The Spire of Insight is an optional puzzle site rather than a required main-story objective. GameSpot describes it as a challenge you can complete without using it to advance the main quest. The puzzle is built around a vertical elevator. Each stop has objects that must be collected and placed in a bowl or chalice on the elevator. The lift will not continue until the required set for that stage is in the container, so picking up an item and carrying it to the elevator is the central loop of the dungeon.
Where to find the Spire
Travel to the Steel Mountains, south of Hernand. The Games Wiki places the tower farther along the route past Pororin Village, which is a useful landmark if the mountain region is broad on your map. At the structure, look for the entrance sealed by a dense layer of thorny vines. You cannot simply walk through them; clear the barrier before trying to interact with the gate itself.
How to clear the thorny entrance
The walkthrough sources describe two workable ways to remove the vines. Choose the one that matches what you can access at the entrance and the control prompt shown by your version of the game.

Once the vines are gone, inspect the gate and the bowl or chalice built into it. A small pebble lies on the ground near the entrance. Pick it up and place it in that container. GameSpot presents the pebble as the answer to the opening riddle, and PowerPyx reports that the same placement activates the gate. (GameSpot; PowerPyx)
If the gate does not react, make sure you collected the loose stone at ground level rather than trying to use a decorative object from the tower. The entrance bowl is the interaction point for this first answer; the elevator uses a separate bowl once you are inside.
Elevator bowl sequence
Inside the tower, locate the elevator and use its bowl or chalice to submit objects. PowerPyx gives the following order. Names and descriptions can be capitalized or worded slightly differently in another guide or in your game, so match the object descriptions and riddle clues shown in your own interface.

First elevator stop: the Gravestone
After the entrance opens, search the area around the elevator. The Gravestone is reported on the right side of the lift. Pick it up, return to the elevator, and place it in the chalice. The elevator’s first movement is tied to this single object; if it remains stationary, check the right-hand side of the lift again before searching higher floors.
Next floor: Telescope and Pen Tip
When the tower opens the next level, collect two separate objects. The Telescope is to the left of the elevator. The Pen Tip is not beside the lift: go to the right and enter the side room through the open section of wall. Bring both items back to the bowl and place them there. Submitting only one of the pair will not satisfy this stage, so check the bowl for both placements before attempting to ride again.
Upper puzzle floor: three objects
The final collection stage uses the Small Rotating Globe, Celestial, and Sundial. Search the right-side shelving and the floor immediately around that area. These objects may not be grouped in a single obvious display, so sweep both shelf surfaces and the nearby floor rather than stopping after finding the first item. Return each object to the elevator chalice; the lift proceeds after all three are accepted.
Find the optional Gold Bar recipe
On the upper puzzle floor, inspect the bookshelves before leaving. PowerPyx reports an optional Gold Bar recipe on a bookshelf, and GameSpot also calls out the recipe while describing the final riddle. It is a pickup, not one of the three objects required to move the elevator, so you can complete the object sequence without it. (PowerPyx; GameSpot)

Finish the challenge at the Abyss Gate
After the upper-floor objects have activated the elevator, ride to the top and look for the Abyss Gate. Enter the gate to complete the Spire of Insight challenge. The gate is the completion point described by both walkthrough accounts; reaching the upper floor alone is not the final step. (PowerPyx; GameSpot)
If the elevator will not move
Check that every required object is in the bowl
The stages require sets, not just one representative item. The first stop needs the Gravestone; the next needs both the Telescope and Pen Tip; the upper stage needs all three of the Small Rotating Globe, Celestial, and Sundial. Re-open the elevator interaction and verify that each item registered before looking for a route onward.
Search the less obvious rooms and sides
The Pen Tip is specifically reported in a side room through an open wall on the right, while the Telescope is on the left of the elevator. On the upper floor, the remaining objects are associated with right-side shelves and nearby floor space. These directional clues are more useful than searching randomly through every level.

Use the game’s wording when labels disagree
Guide names are not perfectly consistent: one source calls the light ability Blinding Flash: Concentrated Light and another uses Focused Light, and object descriptions vary slightly between pages. If an item appears to have a different capitalization or translated name, follow the riddle hint and label displayed by your build rather than rejecting a matching object because a guide spells it differently.
Recheck the entrance interaction
If you are still outside, the required sequence is the pebble in the gate bowl after the vines are removed. A stone already present as scenery will not substitute for the loose pickup described by the guides. Move around the ground immediately by the gate until the pickup prompt appears.
Source dates and version caution
The detailed PowerPyx walkthrough is dated April 2, 2026, and the Game8 result for its location-and-solution page reports an update on April 6, 2026. GameSpot’s guide appeared roughly six months before the cited search and was crawled the previous month; The Games Wiki result reports an August 26 update without establishing a year. These are third-party walkthroughs, not an official solution from the developer, and a future game update could change labels, controls, or object placement. For a current run, the reliable structure is the sequence itself: clear the vines, answer the entrance with the pebble, submit Gravestone, then Telescope plus Pen Tip, then Small Rotating Globe plus Celestial plus Sundial, and enter the Abyss Gate. If a prompt or name differs, prioritize the live in-game clue and control display.
