There are no verified cheat codes or an official cheat menu for Crown Gambit. The reliable way to make the three paladins stronger is to build coherent decks, unlock techniques that support each character’s job, and treat positioning as seriously as card selection. One Steam Community player also suggested a Paladin-difficulty approach built around Swift on Hael, free party movement, dodging, and Swift; that is an anecdotal tip, not a confirmed exploit or universally best build.
This guide explains what the game actually supports, how to shape Aliza, Hael, and Rollo into a functioning team, when to take the risk of Ancestral Grace, and how to evaluate community advice without mistaking it for tested documentation.

What “cheats” means in Crown Gambit
Crown Gambit is a narrative tactical card game developed by WILD WITS GAMES and published by Serenity Forge. The Steam listing gives June 18, 2025 as its release date. You guide three novice paladins through a succession crisis in the kingdom of Meodred, make political and alliance decisions, and fight close-quarter, turn-based battles with cards.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe official material does not establish cheat codes, a developer console, secret input sequences, or an approved cheat system. Searches for “Crown Gambit cheats” therefore mostly reflect players looking for ways to handle difficult encounters. The supported answer is strategy: prepare during travel, build each paladin’s deck deliberately, and use the party’s different roles together. The official listing puts that philosophy plainly: “Prepare yourself during your travels and build the deck of each paladin carefully to overcome any obstacle in your way.”

Nothing in the available official information requires one to complete the game.
How the three paladins fit together
The characters are not presented as interchangeable units. Their official descriptions give you a starting point for assigning jobs, but they do not prove that one party arrangement or deck is optimal in every fight.
Aliza: close-range pressure
Aliza is described as a blood-bending swashbuckler. Use that description as a role guide: she is the natural candidate for an aggressive, close-range plan that turns safe openings into pressure. Her position matters because a damage-focused character can lose turns if she has to cross the battlefield repeatedly. When building her deck, favor a coherent offensive purpose and techniques that let her contribute without abandoning the party’s formation.
Hael: support from a cleric’s perspective
Hael is a mace-wielding cleric. That makes him the most obvious character to assign supportive or stabilizing duties, although the listing does not provide a complete card list or dictate a single build. Keep his deck focused enough that he can perform his primary job while still responding to the encounter’s movement and damage demands.
Rollo: the anchor of the formation
Rollo is described as an anchor-wielding tanker. Think of him as the character who helps the group hold space and absorb pressure while the other two paladins exploit openings. A tank is not automatically useful if he is isolated, so plan his movement with the whole party in mind rather than sending him forward simply because he can take punishment.

A practical deck-building method
The game lets you build each paladin’s deck and unlock techniques. Because exact card statistics and a definitive tier list are not established in the official material, use this process instead of copying a supposed “perfect” list.
- Assign one primary job to each paladin. Start with an attacker, a stabilizer, and a space-holder. Aliza, Hael, and Rollo’s official descriptions make that a sensible first division, but adjust it when a battle’s demands call for something different.
- Remove cards that pull the deck in opposing directions. A deck that tries to maximize every possible role can become unreliable. Decide what you need most often, then keep supporting options that solve a known problem rather than adding effects merely because they look powerful.
- Match techniques to the job. When a technique becomes available, ask whether it improves the paladin’s normal turn, fixes a positioning weakness, or protects the team during a dangerous phase. Unlocking a technique is valuable only when it fits the rest of the deck.
- Build for the whole team, not three solo characters. A card that is modest on its own can be important if it lets another paladin reach a target, hold a line, or avoid wasting a turn. Check whether the three decks create a repeatable sequence of actions.
- Reassess after a failed encounter. Change one major variable at a time. If you alter every deck simultaneously, you will not know whether the problem was damage, movement, timing, or an unsuitable technique.
Positioning and movement decide more fights than raw damage
Combat is close-quarter and turn-based, so the distance between characters is a resource. A high-damage card is less useful if playing it leaves the user exposed or forces the next turn to be spent catching up.
The Tool Desk

Place Rollo where he can help control the dangerous space without cutting himself off from Aliza and Hael. Keep the other two close enough to benefit from the team’s actions, but not so tightly packed that one threat can pressure everyone at once. The exact ideal distance depends on the encounter; the principle is to preserve options for the next turn.
Spend movement with a purpose
Before moving, identify the result you want: reach a target, leave a danger zone, protect an ally, or set up a card. Avoid moving simply because a character has movement available. Unplanned movement can break the formation and leave the next paladin without a useful action.
Plan the following turn
Turn-based combat rewards sequences rather than isolated plays. Before committing a card, consider who must act next, where each paladin will end the turn, and whether the team can still respond if the enemy changes position. This is particularly important for a close-range attacker and for a tanker whose location determines how much pressure reaches the rest of the party.

Using Ancestral Grace without gambling the run
The official listing describes Ancestral Grace as a way to empower attacks while carrying a cost. It does not publish enough detail to state an exact threshold, damage value, duration, or universally correct timing. Treat it as a risk-reward tool, not a button that should be pressed whenever it is available.

Use a three-question check
- Will the empowered attack change the immediate outcome? If it does not secure a meaningful advantage, save the risk for a more important turn.
- Can the party survive the cost? Consider the condition of all three paladins, their positions, and the likely response on the enemy’s next turn.
- What happens if the attack misses its purpose? A plan that works only when every target behaves as expected is fragile. Keep a retreat, defensive action, or alternate target available.
Use Grace when the benefit creates a concrete opening: removing a threat before it acts, breaking a dangerous sequence, or enabling the party to recover its formation. Avoid spending it merely to make an already-safe turn slightly faster. Since the precise mechanics are not documented in the listing, record what you observe in your own playthrough rather than relying on an invented formula from an online “cheat” guide.
The Paladin-difficulty tip that is actually documented
One Steam Community discussion responding to “Any tips/advice for Paladin difficulty?” offered a specific suggestion: obtain Swift on Hael, use free movement for the party, and lean on dodging and Swift. This is a single player’s comment. There is no established patch context, repeatable test, or evidence that it is the best build for every encounter.
How to test that suggestion responsibly
- Try the idea on a save where you can compare results without risking your main progress.
- Check whether Swift improves the problem you are actually having, such as failing to reposition or losing turns while avoiding attacks.
- Keep the rest of the party’s jobs clear. A movement-focused Hael still needs to contribute to the team’s overall plan.
- Compare several encounters rather than judging the approach after one lucky or unlucky fight.
If the approach helps, treat it as a movement-and-evasion option, not a code or exploit. If it does not, return to the role-based deck process and identify whether the real bottleneck is damage, formation, technique timing, or Grace management.

| Paladin | Primary objective | Deck-building question | Positioning priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aliza | Apply close-range pressure when an opening appears | Which cards and techniques let her attack consistently without spending every turn travelling? | Stay near useful targets while preserving a safe route back to the team |
| Hael | Stabilize the party and support the encounter plan | Does the deck help the team recover, reposition, or maintain its chosen rhythm? | Remain close enough to support either frontline character |
| Rollo | Hold dangerous space and absorb pressure | Which options let him remain relevant while protecting the formation? | Stand where enemy pressure is most valuable to intercept, not where he becomes isolated |
A repeatable battle checklist
Before the first turn
- Identify which enemy or hazard can disrupt the party’s formation.
- Decide where Rollo should hold space and where Aliza can reach a target safely.
- Check whether Hael needs to prioritize support, movement, or the anecdotal Swift experiment.
- Reserve Ancestral Grace for a turn with a clear payoff unless the encounter gives you a compelling reason to spend it immediately.
During the opening
Use the first turns to establish the formation rather than chasing every target. Make the safest useful play that preserves options. If an enemy is about to force the party apart, solve that positional problem before committing to a marginal damage increase.
In the middle of the fight
Re-evaluate the plan after every major change. A paladin who began as the attacker may need to disengage, while the tanker may need to move to a new pressure point. Keep your decks’ primary jobs in mind, but do not follow them so rigidly that the party loses its ability to respond.
After a setback
Ask what failed first: the deck’s consistency, the formation, movement timing, or the decision to spend Grace. Change one element, replay if practical, and record the result. This produces more reliable knowledge than copying a build whose patch version and assumptions are unknown.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Story choices are part of the strategy
Crown Gambit ties combat to a succession crisis, political conflicts, and alliance decisions. The official listing says choices can lead to multiple endings. That means “winning” a battle is not the only planning objective.

When choosing an ally or responding to a political conflict, decide whether you are pursuing a particular story direction, preserving flexibility, or prioritizing immediate preparation. Keep a short record of major choices if you want to explore different endings; the game does not need a cheat code for that, only a deliberate route through its decisions.

Common mistakes and corrections
Mistake: searching for a code before learning the systems
Correction: Start with deck roles, techniques, and movement. No verified official cheat system has been established.
Mistake: treating the three paladins as identical damage dealers
Correction: Use Aliza’s swashbuckler, Hael’s cleric, and Rollo’s tanker descriptions to assign complementary jobs, then adjust only when an encounter proves the plan inadequate.
Mistake: pressing Ancestral Grace on cooldown
Correction: Tie its cost to a specific outcome and keep a survival option for the following turn.
Mistake: accepting one community comment as a universal solution
Correction: The Swift-on-Hael, free-movement, and dodging advice is anecdotal. Test it against your own difficulty, deck, and encounter sequence.
Mistake: rebuilding everything after one defeat
Correction: Change one deck, technique, or movement habit at a time so you can identify the cause of the failure.
PC requirements and supported platforms
The Steam listing identifies Windows and macOS versions. Its stated minimums are below; store requirements can change, so verify the current listing before installing.
| Platform | Minimum requirements listed |
|---|---|
| Windows | Windows 10; Intel i5; 8 GB RAM; GTX 970 with 4 GB VRAM; 20 GB storage |
| macOS | macOS 11 or later; Intel or ARM processor; 8 GB RAM; at least 4 GB VRAM |
The listing also describes digital soundtrack and artbook add-ons. Those are digital extras, not physical strategy products, and they do not change the combat advice above.
Bottom line
Crown Gambit does not currently have a verified cheat-code solution to point readers toward. The dependable advantage comes from assigning complementary jobs to Aliza, Hael, and Rollo; building each deck around that job; preserving formation and movement options; and spending Ancestral Grace only when its risk has a clear payoff. The Swift advice for Hael is worth testing on Paladin difficulty, but it remains one player’s suggestion rather than a proven universal build.
