CS2 averaged about 978,924 concurrent Steam players in 2025, calculated from SteamCharts’ reported monthly averages. Its highest monthly average was 1,045,702 in April; its lowest was 914,092 in January. SteamDB reports an all-time concurrent-player peak of 1,862,531 on April 12, 2025.
These figures count players online at the same time—not distinct people who played during a month or year.
What CS2 player count means
Steam’s statistics page separates “Current Players” from “Peak Today”: the first is a point-in-time concurrent count, while the second is the highest concurrent count reached that day. SteamCharts also reports average concurrent players and monthly peaks. None of these figures is a count of unique players or monthly active users.
The figures below describe Steam activity. They should not be treated as a count of distinct humans or generalized to every platform. No annual total of unique CS2 players for 2025 is established by these sources.

SteamCharts’ monthly table reports the following average concurrent counts and monthly peaks:

CS2’s all-time peak in 2025
SteamDB reports CS2’s all-time concurrent-player record as 1,862,531 on April 12, 2025. SteamCharts lists April’s monthly peak as 1,811,827. These are different trackers’ reported peak values; cite the tracker and measure when quoting them rather than treating them as interchangeable. The sources do not establish why their figures differ.

How to compare CS2 player counts
- Compare average concurrent players with another game’s average concurrent players for the same time window.
- Compare monthly peaks with monthly peaks, not with daily active users or monthly unique players.
- For a live comparison, report when the count was checked and keep “Current Players” distinct from “Peak Today.” Live values change over time.
