CS:Legacy is a project intended to remake Counter-Strike 1.6 as a standalone game. The project site likewise identifies CS:Legacy as fan-made. It is presented as its own release rather than as an update to the original Counter-Strike 1.6.

When is CS:Legacy coming out?
At announcement time, the project site listed Steam Early Access in 2025 as its planned release timing. A contemporaneous GameSpot report also described a 2025 Steam Early Access target based on the trailer. Those were plans, not confirmation of a launch. The available sources do not establish whether CS:Legacy has released or provide a verified development update as of October 8, 2026.
