In CSR2, a Collections Cup lock-in is a one-way choice: after you select a qualified car and enter, you cannot replace it with another car. Collections unlock at player level 60, and the cars you acquire with Car Credits feed Rookie and Veteran Tasks, Collection XP, perks and rewards. Before spending credits or upgrading a supercar, verify the exact Collection, the current race requirements and whether you are dealing with a persistent Collections lock-in or a separate time-limited event.
What a CSR2 lock-in actually commits you to
The clearest documented rule applies to Collections Cup races. You choose one qualified car before joining the cup, and that car is used through multiple races. Zynga Player Support states: “Once a car is locked in, you won’t be able to switch it with another car.” This is not a temporary selection screen that can be edited after you discover a better option. Treat the confirmation as a permanent commitment for that Collections Cup.

The rule does not establish a single best supercar for every player. Your eligible cars, Collection rank, upgrade state, remaining tasks and other events determine which choice is sensible. A car that is strong in one player’s garage may be unavailable to you, may not qualify for the same Collection, or may be needed for a different event. CSR2’s official material does not publish a universal ranking that overrides those circumstances.

When Collections becomes available
Level 60 is the stated unlock point
Zynga Player Support says the Collections feature unlocks at player level 60. If you have reached that level and cannot find Collections, force-close CSR2, reopen it and install any available app update. The support instructions are tied to the current app implementation, so check the in-game notices if the feature still does not appear after restarting and updating.

Collections access and event access are separate questions. Reaching level 60 does not guarantee that every live event, Collection, car or race is available to your account. Each screen can impose its own rank, car or progression requirement.
How Collections cars and Car Credits work
Car Credits are the currency used to acquire cars inside Collections. The support documentation identifies two routes: earn credits through Collections Cup races or buy them with real money in the in-game Marketplace. CSR2’s September 12, 2024 Collections announcement also describes credits coming from events such as Collections Cups and Showdowns, as well as optional in-app purchases.

Buying credits is optional in the documented progression. You can earn them through play, although the time and number of races needed depend on the live events available to you. Do not spend money merely to avoid making a careful lock-in decision; payment does not remove the no-switch rule.

How Collection progression is structured
Unlocking a Collection
The official Collections announcement describes access being tied to a required Collection Rank or to acquiring any car from that Collection. Once a Collection is accessible, its cars can be acquired with Car Credits. The exact rank requirement belongs to the individual Collection, so do not infer that unlocking one Collection automatically opens every other set.

Rookie Tasks
The introductory task is car acquisition and lock-in. CSR2 describes it as: “The Rookie Task – Acquire and lock the car into the Collection.” In practical terms, a Rookie Task can be the point at which you spend credits and make the initial commitment. Read the task text and the Collection’s qualifying-car list before confirming, because acquiring a car and locking it for a cup are related but not interchangeable screens.
Veteran Tasks
Veteran Tasks require additional car-specific actions after the initial acquisition. The announcement describes them as performing certain tasks with the car to unlock further rewards. Completing Veteran Tasks grants a permanent Respect Points boost for that car. The individual action can differ, so open the task panel and identify the required race, upgrade or other condition before investing resources.
Ranks, perks and completion rewards
Collection rank-ups can award Keys, Cash, Gold or Car Credits. Collection Perks provide permanent progression bonuses. Completing every car and all Veteran Tasks in a Collection earns an exclusive profile sticker. These rewards make a lock-in part of a longer progression path rather than a single race transaction: the useful question is not only “Can this car win?” but also “Can I finish the tasks attached to it?”
Safe procedure for a Collections Cup lock-in
Use this sequence immediately before committing a car. It is designed to prevent confusing an eligible car with the car you actually want to use.

- Open the specific Collection or Collections Cup. Do not rely on a garage search or on a car’s reputation. The race screen is the authority for that cup’s current eligibility.
- Read the qualification conditions. Check make, model, tier, rank and any displayed restrictions. A car that belongs to a Collection may still fail the current cup’s entry condition.
- Review your available candidates. Compare only cars the game marks as qualified and that you own or can acquire with your current Car Credits.
- Inspect the task and reward panels. Note whether Rookie or Veteran Tasks remain, what actions they require and which rewards or Respect Points they add.
- Check competing commitments. Look at upcoming or active events that list the same car. The official sources do not establish that a locked car is automatically unavailable elsewhere, so verify the actual event screens instead of assuming either outcome.
- Confirm the upgrade and resource plan. Make sure you have the parts, cash, Gold or time required for the races and any Veteran Task. A lock-in does not guarantee that the car is race-ready.
- Choose the car and read the confirmation text. If the screen warns that the selection cannot be changed, stop and recheck the previous steps.
- Enter only after confirming. Once you join with the selected car, the documented Collections Cup rule prevents switching to another car.
How to choose between two eligible supercars
When two or more cars qualify, use a conditional comparison instead of looking for a universal “best” car. Score each candidate against the same questions:

If one candidate is already upgraded and the other would consume scarce resources, the prepared car is usually the lower-risk operational choice. That is a planning principle, not an official performance guarantee. If both are equally prepared, favor the one whose tasks and Collection rewards fit your immediate progression, then confirm the lock-in warning one final time.
Collections lock-ins versus live-event lock-ins
CSR2 uses lock-in language for more than one system. A Collections Cup belongs to the persistent Collections feature and follows the no-switch rule documented by Player Support. A limited-time event can publish its own required-car list, number of entries and deadline. Those mechanics should not be merged into one assumption.
For any live event, open the current event announcement and the in-game race screen together. Verify:

- the exact required cars and whether more than one must be entered;
- which races must be completed after locking in;
- the event’s closing date and time for your region;
- whether the lock-in is for a single event, a finale or a Collection Cup; and
- what happens if you leave, fail or run out of attempts, if the event screen specifies it.
Historical event lists are useful evidence that requirements change, but they are not current instructions. The CSR2 6.4.0 update page, for example, listed five Ferrari cars for the ROSSO MARANELLO Finale and two cars for APEX AEROS during April and May 2026. Those dates have passed; the list demonstrates event-specific variation, not a lineup you should prepare for now.
What the October 2026 example shows
Zynga’s October 7, 2026 announcement described the Superveloce Ascension Duality event featuring the Lamborghini Revuelto SV. Players had to lock in two required entry cars and complete all event races to win the prize car. The announcement gave an availability window through October 14, 2026. Because that date has passed, the event should be treated as a historical example rather than a currently available opportunity.
The example illustrates why checking the date matters: an event can require multiple cars and a complete race run, while a Collections Cup can involve a different selection and progression path. Do not prepare a car based on an old announcement without confirming that the event is still live in your client.
Common mistakes and how to recover
The Collection is missing at level 60
Force-close and restart CSR2, then update the app. If the feature remains absent, follow the current in-game or support instructions; the documented unlock threshold does not guarantee that an outdated client will display the feature correctly.

You selected a car before checking the task chain
Open the Collection’s Rookie and Veteran panels before spending more resources. You cannot undo a completed Collections Cup lock-in under the support rule, but you can avoid compounding the mistake by understanding the remaining tasks and rewards.
You assumed a Collection car qualifies for every event
Return to the live event’s entry screen and use its listed cars as the source of truth. Collection membership and event eligibility are separate checks.
You cannot afford the next task after locking in
Pause upgrades and map the required action, available rewards and alternate earned-credit routes. Car Credits can be earned through documented event play, while Marketplace purchases are optional. Avoid buying a bundle until you know the exact task and race requirement it would help you meet.

Check the event’s end date and the current version notices in CSR2. The October 14, 2026 closing date for Superveloce Ascension Duality is a good example of why an announcement can become outdated within days.
A final pre-commitment checklist
- My account is at least level 60 and the Collections feature is visible.
- The car appears as qualified on the current Collections Cup or event screen.
- I know whether this is a persistent Collections lock-in or a separate timed-event lock-in.
- I have checked Rookie and Veteran Tasks and understand the next required actions.
- I have enough upgrade resources, or a realistic earned-credit plan, to complete the races.
- I checked other active events for the same car without assuming an undocumented restriction.
- I read the confirmation warning and accept that a Collections Cup car cannot be switched after entry.
The safest CSR2 commitment is therefore not a particular badge or horsepower figure. It is a qualified car you can prepare, use through the full listed race sequence and support with a task plan after the lock-in. Verify the live screen immediately before entering, because event requirements, availability and regional store offerings can change.
