Short answer: Nintendo currently lists Cult of the Lamb as supported on Nintendo Switch 2, but its official store page does not identify a separate Cult of the Lamb Nintendo Switch 2 Edition or state that an upgrade bundles every DLC purchase. DLC such as Woolhaven remains separately listed. If you already bought digital DLC, Nintendo’s account-entitlement rules indicate that you should be able to redownload it at no cost with the Nintendo Account that purchased it. That is different from receiving DLC you never bought, and the title-specific upgrade price and bundle contents have not been officially stated.
What Nintendo currently confirms
The most reliable distinction is between support, an actual Switch 2 upgrade pack, and DLC ownership. Nintendo’s current Cult of the Lamb listing labels the Nintendo Switch game “Supported” on Nintendo Switch 2 and says game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch. That confirms platform compatibility, not a special Switch 2 edition with enhanced features or bundled add-ons.

The same Nintendo catalog lists the game’s downloadable content as separate products. The listed products include Woolhaven, the Unholy Pack Bundle, Pilgrim Pack, Cultist Pack, Heretic Pack, Sinful Pack, and bundle combinations. A separate product listing means you should not treat the DLC catalog as proof that an upgrade includes those items.

|---|---|---|
| Does the Switch game run on Switch 2? | Nintendo labels Cult of the Lamb “Supported,” with behavior consistent with Nintendo Switch. | You can use the Switch version on Switch 2 under Nintendo’s stated compatibility label. |
| Is a Cult of the Lamb Switch 2 Edition documented? | Not stated on Nintendo’s current title listing. | Do not assume a separate upgrade pack exists until the title-specific eShop page names one. |
| Are the DLC products sold separately? | Yes. Nintendo lists Woolhaven, the individual packs, and bundle combinations as separate downloadable products. | Buying the base game or using its Switch 2 compatibility label does not, by itself, establish ownership of unpurchased DLC. |
| Can purchased digital DLC be downloaded again? | Nintendo says previously purchased digital games and DLC can be redownloaded at no cost with the owning Nintendo Account when the relevant redownload or Virtual Game Cards option appears. | Use the same account that bought the DLC and check the eShop or Virtual Game Cards. |
| Does the upgrade include DLC you never purchased? | Not confirmed by a title-specific Nintendo or developer statement. | Assume unowned DLC is not included unless the purchase page explicitly says so. |
What a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition normally contains
Nintendo’s general support description says: “The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of a game is a bundle that includes the original Nintendo Switch game and its upgrade pack, which enhances the game to take advantage of the capabilities of the Nintendo Switch 2 system.” Nintendo also says that the contents of an upgrade pack vary by game.
#1 Best Overall
- Start your own cult in a land of false prophets
- Venture out into diverse and mysterious regions to build a loyal community of woodland Followers
- Repay your debt by building a loyal following
- Spread your Word to become the one true cult!
That policy explains why a generic Switch 2 rule cannot answer the Cult of the Lamb DLC question by itself. Even if a title later receives an upgrade pack, the pack could define its own enhancements and entitlements. The general definition does not say that every previously released expansion or cosmetic pack is automatically bundled, and it does not establish a universal upgrade price.
For this game, the official pages identified here do not provide a title-specific statement describing a Switch 2 Edition, its upgrade price, its enhancements, or a DLC bundle. The Nintendo listing’s “Supported” label should therefore be read as compatibility information rather than as confirmation of a paid or free upgrade product.
What happens to DLC you already bought
Nintendo’s digital-content guidance addresses ownership through the purchasing account. When the eShop shows Virtual Game Cards or redownload language for a DLC item, Nintendo treats that item as purchased by the Nintendo Account currently in use and allows it to be redownloaded at no cost.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Sign in with the purchasing Nintendo Account. The account matters because the entitlement is attached to the account that bought the digital content.
- Open Nintendo eShop or Virtual Game Cards on Switch 2. Use the same account rather than a different family member’s or secondary account.
- Find the relevant Cult of the Lamb DLC. Check the listing for the redownload or Virtual Game Cards wording described in Nintendo’s support guidance.
- Redownload the item if the entitlement appears. Nintendo’s policy says that previously purchased digital DLC can be redownloaded at no cost when that account-owned status is shown.
- Launch the game and check the installed content. This verifies that the download completed; it does not turn content you never purchased into part of your account.
This is an entitlement transfer or redownload, not a free acquisition of the entire DLC catalog. For example, an account that owns Woolhaven should look for its redownload entitlement. An account that owns only the base game should not infer that Woolhaven, the packs, or a bundle combination has been added simply because the game runs on Switch 2.

Woolhaven: what is known about the expansion
Massive Monster describes Woolhaven as “a brand new story expansion DLC for Cult of the Lamb, available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation.” The expansion released on January 27, 2026, and Nintendo lists it as a separate downloadable product.
Those facts establish that Woolhaven is paid expansion content available for the Nintendo Switch version. They do not establish a special Switch 2 entitlement. If you bought it digitally, use the purchasing Nintendo Account and look for the redownload option. If you did not buy it, wait for the title-specific purchase page to say that it is included before treating it as part of any upgrade.
Is the Switch 2 upgrade free?
No official title-specific page identified here states whether a Cult of the Lamb Switch 2 upgrade is free, paid, or unavailable as a separate product. Social-media claims about a free upgrade should be treated as unconfirmed until Nintendo or Massive Monster publishes the exact terms.
Nintendo’s platform policy only explains how Switch 2 Editions work in general. It does not set one price for every game. Because the current listing uses a compatibility label rather than documented Cult of the Lamb-specific upgrade language, check the eShop immediately before paying. Prices, regional availability, and entitlement wording can change.

Does all purchased content carry over?
For digital DLC purchased on the same Nintendo Account, Nintendo’s redownload rule is the strongest available answer: the account should retain access when the eShop or Virtual Game Cards identifies the item as purchased. That covers the principle of preserving an existing digital entitlement.
It does not prove that every type of content is automatically bundled into an upgrade pack. The official information reviewed does not spell out a complete content-by-content transfer matrix for Cult of the Lamb, nor does it say that unpurchased DLC is included. Treat “my purchases remain downloadable” and “the upgrade contains every DLC” as two separate questions.
For physical ownership, the available title-specific information does not provide additional entitlement terms. The safest approach is to read the Switch 2 eShop entry for the exact edition you intend to use and confirm whether it refers to a cartridge, a digital purchase, an upgrade pack, or a combination. Do not infer physical-edition benefits from the digital redownload rule.

- Look at the product name. Confirm whether it says only Cult of the Lamb for Nintendo Switch or explicitly names a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition or upgrade pack.
- Read the included-content section. Look for explicit references to the original game, an upgrade pack, and each DLC item. A general “supported” label is not an inclusion list.
- Check the price and purchase button. The title-specific upgrade price is not stated in the official information summarized here, so verify the amount shown for your region and account.
- Check your account’s owned items. Open the relevant DLC listing while signed in to the account that purchased it and look for Virtual Game Cards or redownload wording.
- Separate owned and unowned content. Mark which packs and expansions you already purchased. Only the former are covered by the redownload entitlement rule.
- Review regional wording. Nintendo’s catalog and prices can differ by region. Confirm availability in the eShop attached to your Nintendo Account.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Confusing “supported” with “upgraded”
“Supported – Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch” is a compatibility statement. It does not promise higher resolution, faster performance, new features, or a separate upgrade download. Look for explicit enhancement language before paying an upgrade charge.
Confusing redownload with a bundle
A no-cost redownload confirms that your account already owns a digital item. It does not grant DLC that was never purchased. A bundle must be identified in the product’s included-content wording.
Using the wrong Nintendo Account
If a DLC item does not appear as owned, first verify that the console is using the Nintendo Account that made the purchase. The account-based rule cannot be used to claim an entitlement from a different account.

Decision guide
You own the base game and all the DLC digitally
Use the purchasing Nintendo Account on Switch 2, inspect the eShop or Virtual Game Cards, and redownload each owned item that is shown as purchased. Do not pay again for an item that appears with the account’s redownload entitlement.
You own the base game but no DLC
The compatibility listing lets you use the Switch game on Switch 2, but it does not establish that DLC is included. Buy an expansion or pack only if you want it and the eShop lists it as a separate purchase or explicitly includes it in a named bundle.
You own Woolhaven and are moving to Switch 2
Because Woolhaven is sold as Nintendo Switch DLC, check the same purchasing account for its redownload entitlement. The available official pages do not say that a Switch 2 upgrade replaces or repackages that purchase.

You are deciding whether to pay for a new Switch 2 product
Wait for the title-specific page to identify the product as an upgrade or Switch 2 Edition and to state its price and included content. If those details are absent, the current evidence supports compatibility and account-based redownloads, not a confirmed all-DLC bundle.
Bottom line
Cult of the Lamb is currently listed by Nintendo as supported on Nintendo Switch 2, while its DLC is cataloged separately. Previously purchased digital DLC should remain available to redownload at no cost through the Nintendo Account that bought it when the eShop or Virtual Game Cards shows the entitlement. No official title-specific statement currently confirms a Cult of the Lamb Switch 2 Edition, a free upgrade, a price, or inclusion of DLC you never purchased. Check the live Nintendo listing before buying and treat any broader claim as unconfirmed until Nintendo or Massive Monster publishes exact entitlement terms.
