All deals in this article are historical. Cyber Monday 2025 was December 1, 2025, and the prices and bundles below are no longer presented as live offers. At the time, the Meta Quest 3S 128GB was the strongest value at about $249.99; the Quest 3S 256GB was the better long-term choice for larger libraries; the PlayStation VR2 was the standout for existing PS5 owners; and the Meta Quest 3 remained the better premium standalone headset when its price was discounted enough.
Cyber Monday 2025 VR deals at a glance
| Product | Best for | Observed Cyber Monday 2025 price | What varied | Main drawback |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Meta Quest 3S 128GB | First-time buyers and the lowest-cost standalone VR | About $249.99 | Game, subscription trial and retailer gift card | Older Fresnel optics and limited storage |
| Meta Quest 3S 256GB | Players installing many games | About $329.99 | Game, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and $50 Best Buy gift card in one reported bundle | Still uses the 3S optical system |
| PlayStation VR2 | People who already own a PS5 | About $299.99 | Game bundles, including Horizon Call of the Mountain | Requires a PS5 for its primary use |
| Meta Quest 3 | Frequent users and premium standalone VR | Coverage placed it near $499 | Discounts and stock varied substantially | Much less compelling when priced close to $500 |
These prices were reported by deal coverage from WIRED, PC Gamer, Tom’s Guide and Windows Central. Exact listings were retailer-specific, so similarly named products did not necessarily include the same bonuses.

Best overall value: Meta Quest 3S 128GB
The 128GB Quest 3S was the easiest recommendation for a first VR headset. Its observed Cyber Monday price of approximately $249.99 was below Meta’s $299.99 launch price for the model, and it worked as a standalone headset without a PlayStation console or gaming PC. Meta positioned the Quest 3S as its affordable entry point to the Quest ecosystem in its official announcement.
Recommended Free Tools
It provided access to Meta’s Quest game library, mixed-reality features and optional PC VR. That combination made it a better all-purpose value than a discounted console headset for buyers starting from scratch.
#1 Best Overall
- CARDBOARD MONKENAUT — Get our best Gorilla Tag bundle yet with this Amazon exclusive deal. Purchase Meta Quest 3S to get exclusive items, including the Gorilla Space Program Suit and Helmet, plus 2,000 SHINY ROCKS.
- NO WIRES, MORE FUN — Break free from cords. Game, play and explore immersive worlds — untethered and without limits.
- 2X GRAPHICAL PROCESSING POWER — Enjoy lightning-fast load times and next-gen graphics for smooth gaming powered by the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor.
- EXPERIENCE VIRTUAL REALITY — Take gaming to a new level and blend virtual objects with your physical space to experience two worlds at once in your VR headset.
- 2+ HOURS OF BATTERY LIFE — Charge less, play longer and stay in the action with an improved battery that keeps up. *Based on the graphic performance of the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 platform vs the Meta Quest 2 platform.
However, the Quest 3S is not simply a Quest 3 with less storage. It uses an older Fresnel-lens design and offers a smaller clear viewing area than the Quest 3’s newer optical system. In practice, text and fine detail are less consistently clear, and users may need to turn their head rather than look around with their eyes. That trade-off is reasonable at roughly $250 for casual play, fitness and short sessions, but it matters for frequent use, simulators, productivity apps and PC VR.
Choose it if: you want the cheapest credible standalone headset, do not own a PS5, and can accept lower optical clarity.
Skip it if: you expect to use VR frequently, read lots of text in the headset or already know that visual clarity will determine whether you keep using it.
Best for storage: Meta Quest 3S 256GB
The 256GB Quest 3S was reported at about $329.99 in a Best Buy bundle that included a game, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and a $50 Best Buy gift card. Other retailers used different combinations, so the exact listing and SKU mattered.
Extra storage is useful because modern standalone VR games can be large. The 128GB model works well for a casual player with a small rotating library, but families sharing one headset and players who dislike uninstalling and redownloading games should consider 256GB. The larger model does not improve the 3S’s lenses or display, so this is a storage upgrade rather than a visual-quality upgrade.

- CARDBOARD MONKENAUT — Get our best Gorilla Tag bundle yet with this Amazon exclusive deal. Purchase Meta Quest 3 to get exclusive items, including the Gorilla Space Program Suit and Helmet, plus 2,000 SHINY ROCKS.
- NEARLY 30% LEAP IN RESOLUTION — Experience every thrill in breathtaking detail with sharp graphics and stunning 4K+ Infinite Display.
- NO WIRES, MORE FUN — Break free from cords. Game, play and explore in immersive worlds — untethered and without limits.
- 2X GRAPHICAL PROCESSING POWER — Enjoy lightning-fast load times and next-gen graphics for smooth gaming powered by the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor.
- EXPERIENCE VIRTUAL REALITY — Blend virtual objects with your physical space and experience two worlds at once in your VR headset.
Whether it justified the additional cost depended on the bundle. Count the included game only if you would have bought it, and treat Xbox Game Pass and the gift card as conditional value rather than an automatic $50 price reduction.
Best for PS5 owners: PlayStation VR2
For someone who already owned a PS5, PSVR2 was the most interesting alternative to Quest. Cyber Monday coverage reported a price near $299.99, roughly $250 below its $549.99 launch price. That saving is relative to the launch price, not necessarily to the product’s immediately preceding street price. Some offers included Horizon Call of the Mountain; bundle contents varied.

It was the better fit for a PS5 owner whose priority was dedicated console VR rather than a portable, mixed-reality platform.
The catch is fundamental: PSVR2 is not standalone. A buyer without a PS5 must add the cost of the console, making a $299.99 headset a much less affordable overall purchase than a Quest 3S. PC support also requires the appropriate adapter and does not reproduce every PSVR2 feature. See Sony’s PlayStation Direct hardware deals page for the platform context.
Choose PSVR2 if: you already own a PS5 and want the strongest console-focused experience.

Best premium standalone option: Meta Quest 3
The Meta Quest 3 remained technically preferable to the Quest 3S. Its display and optics provided a larger, clearer sweet spot, making text, menus, simulators and longer sessions more comfortable for many users. It was also the more sensible choice for buyers planning frequent standalone or PC VR use.
During the 2025 sale period, coverage placed Quest 3 pricing around the $499 level, while some units became difficult to find or sold out. That made the decision less about whether Quest 3 was better—it was—and more about whether the price gap was small enough to justify the improvement. If the Quest 3S was approximately $250 and Quest 3 remained close to $500, the 3S was the value winner. If Quest 3 was substantially discounted, it was the better buy for a committed VR user.
Use the official Meta store to verify current product information rather than assuming a 2025 deal page still reflects availability.
Quest 3S vs. Quest 3 vs. PSVR2: which should you buy?
| If you… | Best fit |

| Want the cheapest standalone headset | Quest 3S 128GB |
| Install many games or share the headset | Quest 3S 256GB or Quest 3 |
| Already own a PS5 | PSVR2 |
| Want the clearest standalone visuals | Quest 3 |
| Want mixed reality | Quest 3S or Quest 3 |
| Want PC VR without committing to a console | Quest 3S or Quest 3, provided your PC and network are suitable |
| Do not own a PS5 | Quest 3S or Quest 3 |
What the headline prices really included
A $249 Quest 3S listing could include a game, a three-month Meta Horizon+ trial, a $50 retailer gift card, or some combination of those extras. These offers were not interchangeable. Some listings mentioned The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, while others used different software or retailer bonuses. Compare the exact storage capacity and SKU at the retailer, not just the product name.

Use this calculation:
Effective cost = cash price − usable gift-card value − realistic value of included software.
A gift card is not an instant discount. Check whether it arrived immediately, required a retailer account, could be spent on digital purchases, expired or carried restrictions. A subscription trial may also auto-renew, so check the renewal terms and cancel before paid billing if you do not want it.
Also verify whether the unit was new, manufacturer-refurbished, retailer-refurbished or sold by a marketplace seller. Warranty coverage, included controllers, hygiene, battery condition and return rights can differ substantially.

GamesRadar reported a PrismXR charging accessory at approximately $47.99 during the sale period, but that was an accessory deal—not a universal requirement. Budget for comfort and battery improvements only after deciding that the headset itself fits your needs.

Was Cyber Monday better than Black Friday?
Not necessarily. Many VR promotions began before Cyber Monday and continued throughout Black Friday week. December 1 was often the final day of an existing sale rather than a separate, universally better event. If the exact bundle, return policy and price were already acceptable, buying earlier reduced the risk of a stockout. A late restock was not guaranteed to improve the offer.
For future deal events, compare the cash price, bonus contents, seller, warranty and return deadline. Check whether the retailer offers price matching or holiday returns, and do not assume the word “Cyber Monday” means the lowest price.
Family, comfort and PC VR cautions
A cheap headset is not automatically a good family purchase. Check fit, supervision, hygiene, play-space requirements and account restrictions. Younger users may also be subject to platform age policies; follow the manufacturer’s current guidance rather than treating a headset as a shared toy.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Quest 3S and Quest 3 can connect to a PC, but “PC compatible” does not mean every laptop, desktop or router will deliver a good experience. You may need a suitable gaming PC, a compatible USB cable or reliable low-latency Wi-Fi, plus Meta and/or SteamVR software. Quest remains the simpler platform for buyers who want optional PC VR without making a gaming PC part of the initial purchase.
What about Apple Vision Pro?
Apple Vision Pro should not be treated as a normal alternative in a value-focused VR deal roundup. It is a premium spatial-computing product, not a sensible substitute for a roughly $250 Quest 3S or a roughly $300 PSVR2. It is a poor match for buyers seeking gaming value, a broad conventional VR library, a console replacement or a family-friendly first headset.
Final verdict
For most first-time buyers during Cyber Monday 2025, the Quest 3S 128GB at about $249.99 was the best value. Spend more on the 256GB version if storage matters, not because it improves the optics. Choose PSVR2 at about $299.99 if you already own a PS5 and want console VR. Choose Quest 3 when the price gap is modest enough to pay for its clearer, more forgiving optical system.
Those recommendations describe the 2025 deals only. The offers have expired, and current availability or pricing must be independently checked before buying.
