Keep him if you would rather retain his talking-AI behavior and do not mind leaving the quest active and hearing repeated protest lines.

So the choice is about what matters more to you: clearing the quest and eventually recovering a non-AI version, or keeping Skippy’s distinctive voice and behavior. Neither option is best for every player.

How Skippy’s modes affect the decision
Skippy is an AI-equipped smart pistol found in Vista Del Rey, Heywood. It uses standard pistol ammunition and scales with your level, according to RPG Site’s guide.
- Stone Cold Killer: targets enemies’ heads to kill them.
- Puppy-Loving Pacifist: targets enemies’ legs to maim rather than kill them.
At pickup, you choose a mode. After Skippy has been used against 50 enemies and some in-game time has passed, he switches to the opposite mode, according to RPG Site and GamerZenith’s version 2.02 guide. Dialogue choices after the switch can affect the outcome: RPG Site says answering “Killing is wrong” after choosing Puppy-Loving Pacifist can keep that mode, while GamerZenith recommends different responses to switch into Stone Cold Killer. The guides do not support one universal dialogue recipe for every intended result, so choose based on the targeting behavior you actually want.

How long until Regina makes Skippy available again?
There is no consistent exact timer in the guides: they describe a few in-game days, a couple of in-game weeks, or roughly eight days. Treat the return as a delay rather than a guaranteed date; continue playing or use the in-game wait function and watch for Regina’s follow-up.
