Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 added four vehicles, AutoDrive, self-driving Delamain cabs, broader CrystalCoat support, and major Photo Mode options. CD PROJEKT RED published the update notes on July 16, 2025. The update is free to owners of the base game and does not require a new playthrough. This guide covers what version 2.3 changed and separates those features from later adjustments in Patch 2.31.
What’s in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3?
CD PROJEKT RED’s official Update 2.3 notes describe a broad patch centered on driving and customization, with additional Photo Mode options, quality-of-life changes, fixes, and platform-specific updates. The headline additions are four vehicles, AutoDrive, self-driving Delamain cabs, and CrystalCoat support for more vehicles.
The patch also adds 27 spawnable NPCs to Photo Mode, among other camera and scene controls. The vehicle and NPC figures are counts of content additions stated by CD PROJEKT RED, not performance measurements.
How do you use AutoDrive in Update 2.3?
- Get into a vehicle and drive onto a road.
- Hold G on PC or Left Stick on console to activate AutoDrive.
- If you have a job objective or map pin selected, AutoDrive will head toward it. With no destination selected, it provides a free-roaming ride.

In the original 2.3 notes, AutoDrive is disabled during combat and when the vehicle is heavily damaged.

Expanded CrystalCoat support
Update 2.3 extends CrystalCoat to vehicles from partner brands, including motorcycles. The notes also describe a cracked version of the technology for lower-end vehicles. Support is not universal: some models, including heavily modified nomad vehicles and job-related vehicles, do not support it. The Semimaru requires completion of its related side job before CrystalCoat becomes available for it.
What changed in Photo Mode?
Update 2.3 expands both the subjects you can stage and the controls you can use to shape a shot.

Free Roam was also upgraded to follow traffic rules and navigate more reliably. Patch 2.31 additionally made most poses introduced in Update 2.3 work with any gender. These are later changes, not behaviors to attribute to the original 2.3 release; see the Patch 2.31 notes.
