Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 was announced on July 16, 2025, and was scheduled to launch the next day on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It added AutoDrive, summonable Delamain rides, four vehicles, and a major Photo Mode expansion. The update is free for owners of the base game, and you can continue an existing save.
When did Update 2.3 arrive?
CD PROJEKT RED published the official patch notes and press announcement on July 16, 2025, saying the update would arrive July 17 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The official announcement does not establish a June announcement date. Update 2.3 is now a historical release; the patch-notes page also links to later updates, including 2.31.

What are the biggest gameplay additions?
AutoDrive for owned vehicles
AutoDrive can take an owned vehicle to a destination you select, or give you a leisurely, destination-free ride through Night City. Activate it while driving on a road; it will not operate during combat or when the vehicle is heavily damaged. A cinematic camera option is available while AutoDrive is active.

Summonable Delamain rides
After completing “Don’t Lose Your Mind” and receiving a message from Delamain, you can summon a Delamain cab. The ride is a paid in-game service, according to CD PROJEKT RED’s announcement.
Four new vehicles, with different unlock routes
The update added four vehicles, but they are not all immediately available. Some are earned through side jobs; the Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila is available through AUTOFIXER. The Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa can be purchased through AUTOFIXER if its side job is failed.

What changed in Photo Mode?
Photo Mode received 27 new spawnable NPCs and a broad set of creative controls. You can switch outfits for V and spawned NPCs, adjust gaze and lighting, and use new stickers and frames. The update also improves depth of field and adds color filters, weather and time controls, frame advance, and an option to let game time progress while Photo Mode is open.
What other features were added?
- Expanded CrystalCoat availability, plus a cracked CrystalCoat option for many lower-end vehicles, with exceptions.
- An option to toggle aiming down sights.
- A replayable gameplay tutorial.
- An option to ask Johnny to leave the passenger seat temporarily.
Which platforms and graphics features are supported?
At launch, the announced platforms were PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with Nintendo Switch 2 availability to follow later. The current official Update 2.3 page lists Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Mac. Launch timing and the present platform list are different: the announcement described a staggered rollout.

Some graphics and display options are platform- and hardware-dependent. The patch notes list the following support:
- PC: AMD FSR 4 for compatible AMD GPUs, AMD FSR 3.1 Frame Generation, Intel XeSS 2.0, and HDR10+ Gaming on supported displays with compatible Intel GPUs. The launch notes specify a driver prerequisite for FSR 4.
- PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S: Variable refresh rate (VRR) support.
These are not universal options across all devices. Check the official patch notes for the stated compatibility requirements.

Is Update 2.3 free, and do you need a new save?
Update 2.3 is free for anyone who owns the Cyberpunk 2077 base game. Phantom Liberty and Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition are not required. The official FAQ says you can continue an existing save; starting a new game is not necessary. If you do not own the base game, you must purchase it to access the update.
