The Darkest Dungeon Trainer (+11 Options) listing describes a third-party Windows utility for changing gameplay values in the original PC release. Its advertised switches include infinite health, no stress, maximum light, non-decreasing items, several resource cheats, infinite shop items, and a disputed final label that appears as either “One Hut Kill” or “One Hit Kill.” The listing names original-game Build 23848, but no current compatibility test, official endorsement, or independent safety verification establishes that it works today.
That distinction matters because Red Hook Studios continues to update the original game and its modding environment. Treat the trainer as an old, unverified executable, not as an official feature or a guaranteed solution. If you want supported customization on Steam, Red Hook’s Mod Manager is the official route for organizing mods and load order; it does not provide the direct cheat switches advertised by this trainer.

What this Darkest Dungeon trainer is
Darkest Dungeon is Red Hook Studios’ gothic, turn-based roguelike RPG about the psychological stresses of adventuring. The official description centers on recruiting flawed heroes and managing threats such as stress, famine, disease, and combat. A trainer changes the running game process so those systems behave differently. It is separate from the game’s own settings, separate from an ordinary mod, and separate from Red Hook’s official mod-management tools.
The trainer information comes from third-party listing pages. One page presents the package as “Darkest Dungeon Trainer (+11 Options),” while another attributes a version to FLiNG and lists builds 13287–23848. Those are claims made by the listings, not a compatibility guarantee from Red Hook or a result of independent testing. No published trainer-specific success rate, download count, performance test, or safety study establishes how the file behaves on a current installation.

The 11 advertised options
The names below reproduce the options shared by the listings. They describe the intended effect, not a verified result on a particular build or save. Activate changes only when you understand that a trainer can affect live game state and may not be reversible inside the game.
| Option label | Advertised purpose | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Infinite Health | Prevents controlled heroes or other affected units from losing health. | The listing does not specify which units are covered or whether damage animations still occur. |
| No Stress | Stops stress from rising or keeps the affected value at zero. | The source does not explain whether existing stress is removed or only future gains are blocked. |
| Maximum Light | Maintains the light meter at its highest value. | Interactions with torch consumption, scouting, and light-related events are not documented. |
| Items Won’t Decrease | Prevents inventory quantities from being consumed. | The listing does not state whether the option covers every item, provisions, or only selected stacks. |
| Infinite Gold | Stops gold from decreasing or supplies an unlimited amount. | It is not stated whether spending, rewards, or the displayed balance is modified. |
| Infinite Busts | Keeps the Bust heirloom resource from being spent. | No source explains whether existing Busts are required before activation. |
| Infinite Portraits | Keeps Portrait heirlooms from being spent. | The affected resource is named, but activation timing and scope are not stated. |
| Infinite Deeds | Keeps Deed heirlooms from being spent. | The listing gives no information about upgrades already in progress. |
| Infinite Crests | Keeps Crest heirlooms from being spent. | The source does not establish whether all Crest transactions are covered. |
| Infinite Shop Items | Prevents shop inventory or purchases from being depleted. | “Shop items” is not defined; the option may not cover every store or DLC item. |
| One Hut Kill / One Hit Kill | Advertises a lethal attack effect. | CheatBook uses “One Hut Kill,” while Cheats4Game uses “One Hit Kill.” The correct wording and exact behavior are unconfirmed. |
The resource switches correspond to the game’s heirloom economy, where Busts, Portraits, Deeds, and Crests fund upgrades. The listings do not say whether the cheats alter only the displayed count, the transaction result, or both. That uncertainty is one reason to test with a disposable save rather than a campaign you value.
Compatibility: what Build 23848 does and does not tell you
CheatBook explicitly states compatibility with original PC Build 23848. A separate listing attributes its trainer to FLiNG and gives a range of builds from 13287 through 23848. Neither statement proves that the executable works with later releases, a different storefront edition, a DLC combination, or a modified game installation.

Steam lists Red Hook Studios as the developer and publisher and records the PC release date as January 19, 2016. The age of that release does not make an old trainer automatically compatible: executable addresses can change with patches, platform packaging, downloadable content, or launcher updates. If your game reports a build newer than the one named by the listing, consider the trainer unsupported unless you can verify otherwise without risking your main save.
Red Hook’s August 18, 2026 announcement for The Fire’s Edge confirms that development of the original game continues. The announcement describes new heroes, a combat mechanic, trinkets, and three Districts, and says the update was designed not to interfere with existing mods while further mod-loader work is planned. That context makes the trainer’s historical build number especially important, but the announcement does not establish that this trainer will work or fail.
Safety and trust limitations
Nothing in the available listings establishes that the trainer is safe. A third-party page may display a virus-scan claim, but repeating that claim is not the same as independently scanning the file. No first-hand test or current security assessment is available here. Treat an unsigned executable that modifies another process as a high-risk download.

- The ground-breaking genre-defining combat from Darkest Dungeon returns, but everything from stats to rules has been refined and improved. The all new Token System helps make your decisions impactful while adding even more depth of play.

- Each expedition lasts from 30 minutes to several hours. Even an untimely end will arm you with resources that can be spent to improve your next journey.

- Do not run it on a computer containing sensitive work while logged into accounts you care about.
- Keep a clean backup of your save directory before launching the trainer. Store the backup outside the game’s normal save folder so an overwrite cannot remove both copies.
- Use your own up-to-date security software and inspect the file locally. A clean result is useful evidence, not a guarantee.
- Do not disable security protections merely because the program fails to start. A blocked or quarantined file is a reason to stop and investigate, not an instruction to bypass the warning.
- Test offline with a throwaway campaign first. Avoid multiplayer or shared environments; the game is designed as a single-player experience, and process-altering tools can create unpredictable state changes.
A cautious way to evaluate an unverified trainer
- Identify the installation. Confirm that you are using the original PC game and record the executable or build information shown by your storefront or launcher. Compare it with the build claim in the listing before doing anything else.
- Back up saves and configuration. Close the game, copy the complete save and configuration folders, and label the copy with the date. A backup is your recovery path if a value becomes corrupted.
- Verify the source and file. Obtain the file only from a source you can independently assess. Check its publisher information, digital signature if present, archive contents, and local security scan. Do not rely on a page’s marketing language as proof.
- Start with one option. Launch the game normally, load the disposable save, and change a single value. Testing one switch at a time is the only practical way to identify which option caused a problem.
- Observe a reversible event. For example, spend a small amount of gold or allow a controlled amount of stress to accumulate. Record the normal result before activating a switch, then compare the result afterward. This demonstrates only what happens on your setup; it is not a general compatibility test.
- Close cleanly. Turn options off before ending the session when the interface allows it, exit the game normally, and reload the backup if any value, inventory entry, or roster state looks suspicious.
These steps are risk controls, not instructions supplied by the trainer’s publisher. The listings do not document a universal hotkey layout, injection method, installation path, or activation sequence, so do not assume that controls from another trainer apply here.

Players often conflate a cheat trainer with mod management because both can change how a game feels. They are materially different tools.
| Decision point | Third-party trainer | Red Hook Mod Manager |
|---|---|---|
| Provenance | Unofficial listing pages; no endorsement established. | Announced by Red Hook Studios. |
| Stated compatibility | Listing names original PC Build 23848; another listing cites builds 13287–23848. | The announcement says it currently works only with the Steam version. |
| Primary function | Advertises direct gameplay changes such as health, stress, light, currency, and lethal attacks. | Organizes installed mods and their load order. |
| Save guidance | No verified preservation guarantee; use a backup before experimenting. | Red Hook advises backing up saves when using the Mod Manager. |
| Interchangeability | Not a replacement for a mod loader. | Not advertised as a replacement for cheat switches. |
The official path is preferable when your goal is to install and arrange supported mods on Steam. Choose the trainer only if you knowingly accept an unofficial executable, understand the build limitation, and have a recovery plan. Neither tool should be described as a guarantee against save problems.

Troubleshooting by symptom
The trainer does nothing
Check the game edition, executable version, and launch order, then compare them with the listing’s stated build. A mismatch is more likely than a hidden setting when the program was written for an older executable. Do not keep retrying with a valuable save.
The game crashes or closes
Exit the trainer, restart the game without it, and test the backed-up save. If the unmodified game works, leave the trainer disabled. A crash is evidence that the combination is unstable on your installation, not a reason to disable security software or add more unofficial files.
A resource or roster value looks wrong
Stop spending or upgrading, close the session normally, and restore the pre-test backup. Because the listings do not explain whether they alter displayed values or transaction logic, continuing can compound an unknown change.
Best Value
- Take your Darkest Dungeon: The Board Game sessions to the next level with the Darkest Organizer
- Features 25 compartments to organize over 300 board game tokens
- Stores tokens from the core board game and all compatible expansions
- Keeps board game tokens sorted and within easy reach during gameplay
- Maximizes storage space for faster setup, smoother play, and easy cleanup
The game updated after your test
Assume compatibility has to be reassessed. Red Hook’s continuing updates and mod-loader work mean that a trainer tied to an older build should not be presumed valid after a patch.
Who should avoid it?
- Players whose installation is newer than the listed build and who cannot risk a corrupted campaign.
- Anyone unable to verify the file or maintain an independent save backup.
- Players seeking a supported way to organize mods rather than direct cheats.
- Anyone expecting the trainer to work on console editions; the available claims concern the original PC version.
It may be reasonable to experiment on a disposable offline campaign if the build matches the listing and you accept the security and compatibility uncertainty. It is not reasonable to present the program as current, safe, officially supported, or tested.
Bottom line
The Darkest Dungeon Trainer listing is a historical third-party cheat package with eleven advertised switches, including infinite health, no stress, maximum light, non-decreasing items, four heirloom resources, infinite shop items, and a disputed “One Hut Kill”/“One Hit Kill” label. Its stated target is original PC Build 23848, while ongoing updates to the game mean that compatibility with later builds is unknown. Back up saves, verify any file yourself, test only on a disposable campaign, and use Red Hook’s Steam-only Mod Manager when your actual goal is supported mod organization rather than process-level cheats.
