The catalog listing titled Darksiders II Trainer (+23 Options) identifies the original Darksiders II at version 1.0. It does not establish compatibility with Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition, a separately released 2015 edition. Because other catalogs also label trainers for versions 1.02, 1.03, 1.05 and 1.06 as “+23,” the option count alone is not enough to choose a file. Match the trainer’s stated game version and edition to your installation, and treat present-day safety and functionality as unverified.
What the “Darksiders II Trainer (+23 Options)” listing actually targets
The CheatBook catalog entry uses the exact title “Darksiders II Trainer (+23 Options)” and names the original game at version v1.0. That is the key compatibility fact. The page is a catalog description, not a current compatibility test, download audit or guarantee that a file remains available.

The “+23” label describes the number of advertised cheats in that listing; it is not a build number, patch number or edition name. A trainer can expose the same number of switches for a different executable while using different addresses and code. A v1.0 trainer therefore should not be assumed to work with a patched original installation, a digital re-release or Deathinitive Edition.

Why “+23” is not a sufficient compatibility identifier
The MegaGames trainer catalog indexes several Darksiders II entries carrying the same +23 count, including versions v1.02, v1.03, v1.05 and v1.06. Those records are dated in 2012. The repeated count proves that the number is reused across builds; it does not prove that one executable works with another.
| Identifier shown in a listing | What it tells you | What it does not tell you |
|---|---|---|
| Original Darksiders II v1.0 | The CheatBook entry’s stated target. | That it supports later patches, a particular store release or current operating systems. |
| Original Darksiders II v1.02, v1.03, v1.05 or v1.06 | That separate catalog records exist for those versions. | That a v1.0 trainer or another +23 file will work with them. |
| “+23 options” | The advertised option count for a listing. | The game version, edition, storefront build or current functionality. |
When two files have the same option count, compare the stated executable version, listing date and option names. If any of those are missing, compatibility is unknown rather than confirmed.

Deathinitive Edition is a different release
Steam’s official page for Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition identifies a separately named release dated November 5, 2015. The listing credits Gunfire Games, Vigil Games and THQ Nordic as developers and THQ Nordic as publisher. It describes all downloadable content integrated into the game, reworked balancing and loot distribution, improved graphics and native 1080p support. Steam’s product copy says: “Darksiders 2 with all DLC included and integrated into the game which offers a total playtime of more than 30 hours.” That is a description of the game edition, not evidence that the original v1.0 trainer supports it.
Edition-specific trainer information is separate. A WeMod community listing for Deathinitive Edition presents its own changing option list. Its existence reinforces the practical rule: identify the edition first, then use a trainer listing that explicitly names that edition. Do not carry the +23 label or the original option list over to Deathinitive Edition.
How to check your installation before considering a trainer
- Read the exact game name in your library. “Darksiders II” and “Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition” are not interchangeable labels. If your library shows Deathinitive Edition, the original v1.0 listing is not a confirmed match.
- Determine the executable or patch version. Use the game’s launcher or title information, and inspect the installed executable’s file properties when the publisher exposes a file version. Record the value exactly, including punctuation. If no version is visible, mark it unknown instead of assuming v1.0.
- Compare the trainer record, not just its filename. Check the page’s stated version, edition, option count and date. A filename containing “+23” supplies only the count; it cannot substitute for a version declaration.
- Reject near matches. A listing for v1.02, v1.03, v1.05 or v1.06 is not a documented match for v1.0, and a listing for Deathinitive Edition is not a documented match for the original release.
- Look for independent confirmation. The sources available for this title do not establish that the CheatBook file works on a current installation. Require a report that names your exact edition and version before treating compatibility as more than a possibility.
What each option category would change
The advertised switches imply different effects and different save-game risks. Resource toggles generally alter counters; progression and attribute controls can change long-term character data; combat and movement controls can affect encounters or physics. The catalog does not document hotkeys, limits, persistence or whether options can be combined.

| Category | Named examples | Questions to resolve before use |
|---|---|---|
| Survivability and combat | Infinite health, one-hit kills, super combo hit, freeze enemies, attack speed | Does the option affect bosses, scripted fights or friendly characters? Can it be disabled without restarting? |
| Wrath and special gauges | Infinite wrath, infinite reaper gauge | Is the value temporary or written into the save? Does changing it interrupt a transformation or cutscene? |
| Currency and consumables | Infinite gold, gold multiplier, Boatman Coins, potions, ammo | Are pickups duplicated, capped or permanently altered? Do counters remain valid after the trainer closes? |
| Progression | Infinite experience, experience multiplier, skill points, reset skill points, maximum character attributes | Can an excessive value overflow a counter or make a reset irreversible? Back up saves first. |
| Movement and mounts | Super jump, horse stamina, horse speed | Can altered speed or jump height strand the character, bypass triggers or break a level transition? |
These are descriptions of advertised functions, not guarantees that every switch behaves safely in every build.

None of the reviewed sources establishes that the original +23 trainer is safe, clean or functional today. No trainer was downloaded or tested for this article. Catalog presence should therefore be treated as historical metadata, not a security endorsement.
- Use a reputable, clearly identified source and avoid repacked archives, “cracks” and installers that bundle unrelated programs.
- Scan any download with current security software and inspect the archive contents before running an executable. Do not disable protection merely to force a launch.
- Back up your save directory and keep the untouched copy outside the game folder. Test with a disposable save rather than your only campaign.
- Close the game before starting a trainer unless the trainer’s own instructions explicitly say otherwise. Do not inject into unrelated processes.
- Change one option at a time, observe the result, then disable it before enabling another. If the game crashes, restore the backup and remove the trainer.
- Keep a record of the game build, trainer filename and options used. That information is essential when diagnosing a crash or corrupted progression.
These precautions reduce avoidable risk; they do not turn an unverified trainer into a supported tool.

How to compare competing listings
Use a comparison that puts compatibility ahead of option count. A listing that names fewer functions but clearly identifies the exact edition may be a better candidate than a headline promising more cheats.
| Comparison point | Why it matters | Evidence available here |
|---|---|---|
| Game edition | Original Darksiders II and Deathinitive Edition use different executables and content. | Steam identifies Deathinitive Edition as a separate 2015 release; WeMod has a separate listing. |
| Game version | Trainer code is commonly tied to a specific patch. | CheatBook names v1.0; MegaGames catalogs +23 records for v1.02, v1.03, v1.05 and v1.06. |
| Option list | Different builds may expose different functions despite the same count. | CheatBook names the original list; the Deathinitive Edition community listing has a distinct list. |
| Listing date | Older records may describe files that no longer exist or match current software. | MegaGames’ multiple version records are dated 2012; Steam’s edition release date is November 5, 2015. |
| Verified functionality | A catalog entry is not a test report. | No reviewed source confirms present-day operation on your installation. |
Common mistakes and recovery paths
Using the original trainer on Deathinitive Edition
This is the most consequential mismatch. Stop, remove the trainer and restore the clean executable or game files. Find a listing that explicitly names Deathinitive Edition instead; do not assume its option set matches +23.

Choosing by option count alone
Several original-game versions reuse the +23 label. Recheck the patch number and reject a file when the version is absent. If your installation cannot be identified, compatibility remains unverified.
Best Value
Assuming a catalog page proves safety
Catalog pages index trainers; they do not certify current malware status. Scan the archive, avoid bundled installers and keep a clean save backup.
Leaving progression cheats active
Skill points, multipliers and maximum attributes can change persistent data. Disable them before saving important milestones, and restore the backup if values become impossible or the game begins crashing.
What can be stated with confidence
- The named CheatBook listing targets original Darksiders II v1.0 and advertises 23 options.
- Other 2012 catalog records use the same +23 count for original-game versions v1.02, v1.03, v1.05 and v1.06.
- Deathinitive Edition is a separately named Steam release from November 5, 2015 with different technical and content features.
- A separate Deathinitive Edition community trainer listing has its own option set.
- No source reviewed here verifies that the original v1.0 trainer is safe or works with a current installation.
Accordingly, treat “Darksiders II Trainer (+23 Options)” as a version-specific historical listing. Confirm your edition and exact build before doing anything else; if they do not match v1.0, the listing is not a documented fit.
