Most Utara villagers in Dave the Diver: In the Jungle give one reward at three hearts and another at four. The exceptions matter: Jepun and Cinta have only one listed milestone, while Marone starts resource collection at three hearts and improves it at four. You raise affinity with friendship missions, gifts, and favorite meals at Bancho Grill, then speak to a villager when a pink question mark appears to claim the reward.
This guide covers the named June 18, 2026 reward table, practical priorities for different play styles, and the hidden Spirit content added in the August 6 update. The Jungle Content Pack requires the base game and moves Dave into Utara Village, Bancho Grill, and a freshwater lake.

How Utara friendship and affinity work
Friendship uses a four-heart scale. Meeting a villager fills the first heart automatically; subsequent hearts require interaction. For adult villagers, reaching two hearts also has a practical benefit: they begin appearing as paying customers at Bancho Grill, so affinity can improve the restaurant’s customer pool before the major milestone rewards arrive.
Three ways to gain affinity
- Complete friendship missions. Quest progress can be required before a heart becomes available.
- Give liked gifts. Each villager can receive one gift per day. The Resident Note menu records the preferences you have learned.
- Serve favorite dishes at Bancho Grill. Matching a villager’s preferred food raises the relationship while you are running the restaurant.
The Resident Note menu shows each villager’s current heart level and the gift and food preferences discovered so far. A heart may appear locked rather than merely empty; that generally means a related friendship quest must be finished first. When a reward is ready, look for the pink question mark above the villager, then talk to them to collect it. Reaching the threshold does not automatically place every item in your inventory.

Every documented villager reward
The table below reflects the June 18 guide’s named milestones. It predates the August update, so it lists the individual villager rewards but not the later hidden Spirits. A dash means the guide does not list a reward at that heart level; it is not evidence that another, undocumented item exists.

Which friendships should you prioritize?
There is no universal best order. A discount, a daily resource source, a faster vehicle, and a combat accessory solve different bottlenecks. Use the current run’s objective rather than treating the following choices as a mandatory ranking.
For cheaper upgrades: Perak
Perak is the clearest money-saving target. The three-heart milestone cuts blacksmith prices by 20%, and four hearts raises that reduction to 50%. If you are buying or improving equipment repeatedly, this relationship can return value across many purchases instead of supplying a single item.

For daily materials and ingredients: Marone, Bima, and Eka
Marone starts a daily material-and-ingredient collection at three hearts and improves its rarity at four. Bima provides a similar daily collection at four hearts, while Eka’s four-heart Creature Collection gathers creatures. These are the strongest long-term convenience rewards when your objective is stockpiling rather than winning one difficult dive.
For travel time: Rimbo
Rimbo’s Electric Scooter is faster than the basic Kick Scooter, with the largest practical difference on the beach. Prioritize Rimbo when moving between activities is slowing down a run or when you spend a lot of time traversing the shoreline.
For diving and combat: Harta, Bonita, Uzme, Lipah, and Muna
- Harta: The Gold Necklace of Sloth slows nearby fish, with separate reductions for small, medium, and large targets. It is useful when controlling groups or lining up attacks.
- Bonita: The Air Resonance Necklace adds 30% oxygen recovery, directly extending underwater endurance.
- Uzme: The Bracelet of Strength increases the underwater combat combo gauge by 50%, rewarding players who build fights around sustained combos.
- Lipah: The Big-Eyed Lizard Charm supplies +20% Luck and +10% Defense in Setah Forest, combining exploration and survivability.
- Muna: The Anti-Gravity Device protects two items if Dave dies while diving, making it a safety choice for risky expeditions.
For recovery and action points: Lathi, Kinah, and Omila
Lathi’s mortar unlocks recovery drinks and expands shop stock, with the four-heart version adding another mortar at home and more items. Kinah’s Butterfly Necklace restores 2 AP each turn. Omila’s Handkerchief restores 10% HP each turn. These rewards suit builds that depend on repeated turns, healing, or preparation between dives.

For information and utility: Chandra and Meilan
Chandra’s Eye of the Falcon reveals enemy immunities in Setah Forest, reducing guesswork when selecting attacks. Meilan’s Eye of the Spirit unlocks a dialogue option that displays playthrough statistics. They are less about raw damage or income and more about making the game’s information easier to read.

- Open Resident Note and check the villager’s heart count, known preferences, and whether the next heart is locked.
- If it is locked, finish the associated friendship mission before spending more gifts or meals on that threshold.
- Raise affinity through a liked gift, a favorite Bancho Grill dish, and available friendship missions. Remember that each villager accepts only one gift per day.
- Return to the village or Bancho Grill after crossing the threshold and look for the pink question mark above the villager.
- Talk to that villager while the marker is visible. The conversation is the collection step; reaching the heart alone does not replace it.
- Equip accessories from the reward when their effect matches the next dive, and place decorations or cooking equipment at the location named in the table.
What changed in the August 6, 2026 update?
The official update lists Windows version v1.0.6.2084 and macOS version v1.0.6.736. For Jungle Content Pack owners, it adds village Spirit content that is separate from the named June heart milestones.
Max every villager to reveal the Spirit hunt
After every villager reaches maximum affinity, lost Spirits can be found and rescued in the lake. Rescued Spirits can then be placed to gather materials. The update notes do not name each Spirit’s individual reward, collection rate, or other mechanics, so the June table should not be presented as a complete catalogue of all post-update outcomes.

Return to the Blue Hole after the Jungle ending
The same official notes say that returning to the Blue Hole after the Jungle ending grants additional rewards. They establish that the post-ending trip exists, but do not specify every item in the notes summarized here. Treat those rewards as a separate endgame follow-up rather than as another villager-heart milestone.
What the DLC includes
The Jungle Content Pack launched on June 18, 2026 and requires the base game. Its setting shifts Dave’s activities to Utara Village, Bancho Grill, and a freshwater lake. At launch, the studio described the expansion as offering “up to 10 hours of playable content”; the storefront uses “over 10 hours,” so those descriptions should not be merged into a single exact playtime promise.
Friendship rewards are therefore only one layer of the expansion: some milestones decorate the house or restaurant, others change combat and diving, and the August patch adds a completion goal that continues after the four-heart table.
The Bottom Line
Raise affinity according to your immediate bottleneck: Perak for blacksmith savings, Marone/Bima/Eka for recurring collections, Rimbo for faster travel, and Bonita, Harta, Uzme, Lipah, or Muna for diving utility. Maxing every villager is also required for the August Spirit content, so the June heart rewards are a milestone guide—not the complete Jungle endgame.
