Dave the Diver is available for Windows PC through Steam. Steam lists Windows 10 64-bit, 8 GB of RAM and 10 GB of storage as minimum requirements; its recommended specification calls for 16 GB of RAM and a more capable graphics card. The game pairs underwater exploration and fishing with sushi-restaurant management, so a typical cycle is to dive for ingredients by day and serve customers at night.
This guide covers the Steam version: how to check compatibility, install and update it, handle common problems, protect saves and get started. Steam showed the U.S. base game at $19.99 on August 18, 2026; regional prices and sale discounts vary.
Can you play Dave the Diver on Windows?
Yes. The Windows PC version of DAVE THE DIVER, developed and published by MINTROCKET, is sold through Steam. Steam presents it as a single-player adventure, RPG and management game, and lists Steam Cloud, Achievements, Trading Cards and Family Sharing among its features. The requirements below are for Windows; Steam lists separate requirements for macOS, so do not use the Windows specifications to assess a Mac.
Steam’s Windows listing specifies Windows 10 64-bit. It does not establish a separate Windows 11 support claim, nor does it promise a particular frame rate, resolution or graphics preset. Check your actual processor, graphics hardware, memory and free disk space rather than relying on a general label such as “low-end PC.”

Windows system requirements
The following specifications are those listed on the Steam store page. Minimum requirements are a compatibility baseline, not a guarantee of smooth performance on every system that meets them.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 10 64-bit |
| Processor | Intel Core i3 dual-core | Intel Core i5 hexa-core or i7 quad-core |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 or AMD Radeon HD 5570 | NVIDIA GTX 1060 3 GB or AMD RX 480 |
| DirectX | Version 11 | Version 11 |
| Storage | 10 GB available | 10 GB available |
| Audio | Windows-compatible audio device | Windows-compatible audio device |
The listing does not specify target frame rates or how integrated graphics, laptop power limits, different resolutions or quality settings affect performance. A laptop can also run more slowly on battery than when plugged in. Leave additional drive space beyond the stated 10 GB where possible so Windows and Steam have room to manage updates.
How to install the Steam version
Use Steam’s desktop client and an account that owns the game, or redeem a legitimate Steam key on the account. Avoid unofficial installers and repacks: they can expose your PC to malware and leave you with files or saves that cannot be supported or updated normally.
- Install or open the official Steam client and sign in.
- Open Store, search for DAVE THE DIVER, and purchase the base game or an eligible bundle.
- Open Library and select DAVE THE DIVER.
- Choose Install, select the Steam library drive where you want the game, and confirm the download.
- Wait for Steam to finish downloading and installing, then select Play.
If Steam offers more than one library drive, choose one with adequate free space and reliable access. The game is installed and launched through Steam; the listing does not direct Windows players to a separate MINTROCKET installer.

On first launch
Let any first-run setup complete. Open the game’s settings or options menu to check display mode, resolution, graphics quality and audio output. Menu labels can vary by build, so use the current in-game options rather than relying on a fixed set of labels. Test keyboard and mouse or your controller before starting a long session, and lower graphics settings if performance is poor on hardware near the minimum specification. If you play across PCs, check Steam Cloud status before switching machines.
When installation or updates fail
The Install button is unavailable
- Confirm that you are signed into the Steam account that owns the game and that Steam is not in offline mode.
- Check whether the game is already installed in Library, and restart Steam if the library status looks wrong.
- Check for a pending Steam client update and make sure the selected drive has enough free space.
The download stalls or starts over
- Pause and resume the download, then restart Steam if it remains stuck.
- Check that the destination drive is not full and is writable. An external drive that disconnects or has access restrictions can interrupt installation.
- If needed, check Steam’s download region and whether a broader Steam service problem is affecting downloads.
- Check whether antivirus or Windows security software is blocking Steam or quarantining game files; do not disable protection indiscriminately.
Steam reports missing or corrupted files
In Steam, open Library, right-click DAVE THE DIVER, choose Properties, open Installed Files, then select Verify integrity of game files. Steam will check the installation and reacquire files it finds damaged or missing. The precise wording may shift between Steam client revisions. The game’s Steam announcements have also directed players experiencing crashes, freezing or graphics problems to file verification; Steam’s technical-support page provides a support route.
How the game plays
Dive for fish and supplies
During the day, explore the Blue Hole, catch fish, gather resources and take on creatures with weapons and tools. Oxygen limits how long you can stay underwater. If you run out, you leave collected fish and items behind, so a deeper or longer dive is not automatically a better one. Decide whether to turn back while you can still bring a valuable haul home.
Turn your haul into a restaurant night
At night, use ingredients to make sushi and run the restaurant. Menu choices, ingredient supply, preparation, staff roles and customer service all affect how the evening works. Profits can support equipment and restaurant progression, linking the management half of the game to future dives.

Follow the story or explore side activities
The game is more than a fishing simulator: it combines adventure, RPG progression and management with storylines, quests, minigames and other activities. Its single-player format suits players who want to progress at their own pace; the Steam listing identifies it as single-player.
Beginner choices that make a difference
Balance oxygen with carrying capacity
Oxygen governs dive time; carrying capacity limits how much you can bring back. Improving these systems can make ordinary trips more dependable, but which upgrade matters most depends on whether your runs end because you need more time or more room for cargo.
Come back with valuable cargo
Do not treat every dive as a maximum-risk expedition. If you already have valuable fish or quest items, returning safely can be better than pushing farther and losing much of the haul when oxygen runs out.
Choose equipment for the obstacle ahead
Weapon improvements help against dangerous creatures and bosses. Utility equipment can instead improve exploration, gathering, movement or survival. There is no single upgrade order that is best for every situation; consider what is limiting your next objective.

Plan a menu around supply and service
A dish’s highest possible selling price is only one consideration. Ingredients must be available, preparation must be manageable, and the restaurant must be able to serve customers. A practical menu that can be supplied and served reliably may work better than one built around a costly or scarce ingredient.
Hire for the restaurant’s current needs
Consider which functions need support—such as cooking, serving or other assistance—instead of choosing staff solely by a headline number. As the operation changes, reassess which roles are slowing service or preparation.
Keep exploring the systems as they unlock
New fish, ingredients, recipes and activities appear as you progress. Experiment with them rather than treating the main story as the only worthwhile route through the game.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Saves, Steam Cloud and backups
Steam lists Cloud support, but cloud synchronization is not the same as a separate archival backup. A newer local save can be damaged and synced, or an older cloud copy can replace a newer local file. Before moving to another PC, reinstalling Windows or trying to recover a save, make a separate copy of important files and check that synchronization has finished.

It may contain a numbered subfolder associated with an account or installation, and the path can vary by version.
- Exit the game completely.
- Exit Steam, or confirm that cloud synchronization has finished.
- Copy the reported save directory to another drive or a cloud-storage folder; leave the original untouched.
- Before restoring files, disable or carefully manage Steam Cloud so it does not immediately replace the restored local files.
Save recovery is not guaranteed: game versions, account identifiers, cloud data and file corruption can complicate a restore. The Windows save path above comes from a community discussion, not official developer documentation.
Fix launch, crash, display and controller problems
The game will not launch or freezes
- Restart Steam and Windows, then launch the game from Steam’s Library.
- Verify the installed files using the Steam path above.
- Install pending Windows and graphics-driver updates.
- Temporarily close overlays and background utilities, and check antivirus or ransomware-protection logs for quarantined game files.
- If the issue began after an update, check the game’s Steam announcements for relevant notices before reinstalling.
- Reinstall only if these less disruptive steps fail.
When contacting support, note your hardware, Windows version, graphics-driver version and the steps that reliably reproduce the problem. Avoid unofficial modifications or injected DLLs while troubleshooting; they can introduce crashes or interfere with verification.
Controller input is unreliable
- Check that Windows detects the controller; a wired connection can help isolate a wireless connection issue.
- Review Steam Input settings, then restart the game after changing its controller configuration.
- Test keyboard and mouse controls to determine whether the problem is specific to the controller.
Black screen, wrong display or no audio
- Check the selected monitor and Windows audio output.
- Try windowed or borderless display mode through the game’s settings.
- Temporarily disconnect unused monitors or audio devices, then verify game files if the problem continues.
- Recheck resolution and display scaling after changing monitors.
Keep the Steam build current
Allow Steam to update the game before troubleshooting an issue that may already have been fixed. Re-verify files after an interrupted update or suspected corruption. When reporting a bug, include the installed build shown by Steam; community pages have displayed builds such as v1.0.6.2055, but that is not evidence of the current version. Check Steam’s client or a dated official announcement rather than treating an older community reference as the latest build. The Steam community page is a place to check current community and announcement information.

Base game, DLC and price
Steam showed the U.S. base game at $19.99 on August 18, 2026. That is a dated U.S. observation, not a fixed global price: regional pricing, taxes and sale discounts can change. The Steam listing showed paid content including In the Jungle Content Pack, Ichiban’s Holiday Content Pack and Digital Extra, as well as free crossover content including DREDGE and Godzilla. Check the current page for availability and checkout prices.
The base game is the sensible starting point if you are unsure whether its dive-and-restaurant loop is for you. The store presents add-on content separately; DLC is not required to try the central gameplay. Consider a bundle only if you want its included extras and its live price is better than buying them separately. Use Steam or a legitimate Steam key rather than an unofficial download.
Quick Recap
Who is the Windows version for?
- Players checking a modest PC: Compare your hardware with Steam’s listed minimum, but do not assume it guarantees a particular frame rate, especially on unlisted integrated graphics.
- Fans of management and adventure games: The appeal lies in moving between exploration, equipment progression and restaurant decisions rather than focusing on only one of those systems.
- Players looking for a single-player game: Steam lists it as single-player, making it a fit for those who want a solo progression loop.
- Players seeking multiplayer: Steam’s listing identifies a single-player experience, so do not buy it expecting co-op or competitive modes.
