When did DayZ Update 1.25 come out on consoles?
The Xbox and PlayStation stable update followed on May 29, 2024. The official console changelog records version 1.25.158174 on that date: DayZ stable changelog. Bohemia’s May 27 announcement said the console release was postponed because of technical issues, with the delay intended to help ensure a smooth update: Update 1.25 announcement.
What time did DayZ 1.25 release?
The official records cited here establish the release dates, but do not give an exact PC download hour. A Bohemia Interactive support representative reported that console official servers would go down at 14:00 CEST on May 29. That is the reported server downtime, not proof that the update became downloadable for every console player at that exact time.

What changed in DayZ Update 1.25?
Ambient music
The update added roughly 70 minutes of ambient music, created with Czech composer Dikolson. Tracks are triggered by a player’s location and time of day, and players can switch the music off. The roughly 100-minute figure mentioned before release referred to the experimental build; Bohemia’s post-release recap gives the lower figure for the live update: DayZ 1.25 update recap.
Weapon audio and audibility
Version 1.25 began a rework of firearm sounds, including sounds for shotguns, the crossbow and the grenade launcher. Bohemia also rebalanced how far away other players can hear actions. Previously, the audibility distance for all actions had been set to 50 metres, according to the update announcement.

New rifle and gameplay fixes
The update added the VS-89, a long-range bolt-action rifle with a 10-round magazine. It also changed how player position is synchronized with the server to address problems such as getting stuck in doorways. Quick-slot use was restricted for items stored inside nested containers, including cooking pots and protector cases, to help prevent items disappearing after quick-slot use or related actions.
PC crash reporting
PC players received the Enfusion crash reporter. The console changelog also lists crash-reporter support, along with the VS-89 and ambient soundtrack: DayZ stable changelog.

Did Update 1.25 make Livonia free?
Yes. Update 1.25 integrated the Livonia map into the base game. Existing owners received it at no additional charge, and Livonia was included with the base game for future buyers. Bohemia said the base-game price would increase slightly after the change; see the May 2024 update recap.
