It is a tabletop play series, not a Baldur’s Gate 3 adaptation or a production by the game’s developer. The connection to Baldur’s Gate 3 is through two performers in the cast.
Is Neil Newbon playing Astarion?
No. Newbon, who performed Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3, plays Crem, a Reanimator Artificer, in Dungeon Masters. Devora Wilde, who performed Lae’zel, plays Zora, a Hexblood Shadow Sorcerer. Both are new characters for this campaign.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is there a separate Astarion story with Newbon?
Yes. Hasbro announced Baldur’s Gate 3: Astarion, a prequel novel by T. Kingfisher about Astarion’s years in servitude to Cazador. Hasbro listed September 29, 2026, as its publication date and said Newbon narrates the audiobook. This is a separate book, not a Dungeon Masters tie-in or the plot of the Ravenloft campaign. The announced publication date has passed, so consult current publisher or retailer listings for formats and availability.
