Dead in Antares Survival Guide: Practical “Cheats” for Crew and Camp Management

There are no verified cheat codes or console commands for Dead in Antares in the available official material. The reliable way to gain an advantage is to manage the crew’s condition, assign work intelligently, expand camp capacity, and prepare for tactical fights instead of rushing into them. The advice below treats “cheats” as a search term for effective, supported strategies—not as a promise of hidden codes or a guaranteed winning route.

What “cheats” means in Dead in Antares

Dead in Antares is a turn-based survival-management game with RPG elements, developed by Ishtar Games and published by Nacon. The Steam store description places you on Antares Prime after a mission crash, where you lead survivors, establish a functioning camp, explore for resources, research technology, and fight in turn-based tactical encounters.

The official information available for the February 19, 2026 Windows PC release does not document cheat codes, developer-console commands, save editors, or an invincibility setting. Be cautious with pages that claim to provide a universal code unless the game or its developer confirms it. A “cheat” that modifies files can also corrupt saves or stop working after an update.

The supported advantage is better decision-making. Your crew has needs that can deteriorate, workstations that compete for energy and labor, and combat abilities that reward preparation. Because the game advertises five endings and several difficulty settings, including True Captain mode, a single build order cannot be presented as the best route for every campaign.

  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Understand the systems you are managing

The Steam listing advertises 10 playable characters, each with distinct traits, as well as up to 20 workstations and more than 130 upgrades to craft. It also lists more than 60 battle skills, four difficulty levels plus True Captain mode, and five endings. These are product-description figures, not independent performance tests, and individual balance may change with patches.

In practice, every turn asks you to balance four connected concerns:

  • People: fatigue, hunger, illness, stress, and injuries can lower effectiveness.
  • Production: stations consume labor and energy while producing food, medicine, equipment, or research.
  • Expansion: repairs, upgrades, and ship parts compete with immediate survival tasks.
  • Risk: exploration and combat can provide resources or progress, but they expose an already strained crew to further setbacks.

Decisions that look efficient for one turn can create a larger problem later. Sending an exhausted specialist back to work may produce one more item now while making the next cycle less productive. Treat the camp as a system rather than a list of isolated tasks.

What to prioritize during the opening phase

Stabilize basic needs before chasing optional gains

Your first priority is to prevent harmful character states from worsening. The developer identifies fatigue, hunger, illness, stress, and injuries as conditions that can reduce skills and become harder to manage over time. A camp that is slightly behind on an upgrade but has rested, fed, treated workers is generally in a safer position than a camp with a fuller inventory and a debilitated crew.

  • Check who is hungry, exhausted, ill, injured, or highly stressed before assigning a full workload.
  • Reserve enough food and medicine for the next recovery cycle instead of consuming every item immediately.
  • Use the infirmary for illness and injuries, and provide recreation when stress is building.
  • Watch the Ixion thermostat so sleeping conditions do not undermine rest.

Gather what enables the next cycle

Wreckage provides resources for a functioning camp, but not every resource has equal urgency. Favor materials that keep food, medicine, energy, and essential repairs running. Once those needs are covered, use remaining labor for technology, station upgrades, or exploration. This approach avoids a common failure pattern: investing in a long-term project while a short-term shortage triggers multiple crew debuffs.

Leave room for recovery

Do not fill every available worker slot simply because the station can accept one. A character who needs sleep or treatment is part of your management problem, not wasted capacity. Build a schedule that lets the crew recover before conditions cascade into reduced skills and missed production.

Assigning work: specialist output versus skill growth

The developer recommends using a character with the strongest relevant skills for a camp station when immediate performance matters. That is the safe default, but it is not an absolute rule. Lower-level skills advance faster, and skill increases contribute to global character level-ups. Giving a weaker skill occasional responsibility can therefore be a deliberate training investment.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Assignment choice Best use Risk or cost
Strongest skill on the station Urgent production, a dangerous shortage, or a task where failure would disrupt the camp Less opportunity to train another character’s weaker skill
Lower-level skill on the station Stable periods when you can afford to develop a character for later flexibility Slower immediate output or less reliable performance
Mixed or cooperative assignment Stations upgraded for a second worker, especially when weather or station bonuses favor the combination Consumes additional labor and energy; the benefit is situational rather than guaranteed

Use a simple decision test: if a shortage threatens food, medicine, energy, or treatment, assign the specialist. If supplies are stable and the task is safe, rotate in a character who needs experience. Reassess after each cycle rather than locking every survivor into one permanent job.

Prevent fatigue, hunger, illness, stress, and injuries from snowballing

Crew maintenance works as a loop, not a one-time repair. The developer’s guidance connects rest, food, medicine, treatment, recreation, and temperature management. Skipping one part can make the others more expensive.

Use a regular care loop

  1. Inspect conditions: identify anyone whose fatigue, hunger, illness, stress, or injury is rising.
  2. Restore essentials: provide food and assign rest before adding optional work.
  3. Treat specific problems: craft medicine from local resources where possible and use the infirmary for illness or injuries.
  4. Reduce stress: schedule recreation instead of waiting for stress to become a severe penalty.
  5. Protect sleep: monitor the Ixion thermostat and correct poor sleeping conditions.
  6. Recheck after recovery: only return a character to demanding work when the condition trend is under control.

Medicine is not merely an emergency item. Because it can be crafted from local resources, maintaining a reserve gives you more flexibility when exploration or combat causes injuries. The exact amount to stock depends on difficulty, available materials, and your current roster; the official guidance does not provide a universal quantity.

Build camp capacity and exploit cooperation carefully

Camp development is more than adding individual machines. The official description emphasizes repairing or repurposing equipment, optimizing energy, and building and upgrading workstations. A developer announcement specifically recommends planning upgrades that allow a second worker and using weather or station bonuses when they apply.

When a second worker is worthwhile

A cooperative station can produce more than twice the effect for one energy cost in some situations, according to the developer’s tip. Treat that as a situational interaction, not a universal multiplier. Check the station’s requirements, the workers’ skills, current weather effects, and the energy cost before committing two people.

  • Use cooperation when the output solves an immediate bottleneck or funds an important next upgrade.
  • Avoid pairing two exhausted or injured characters simply to maximize a displayed bonus.
  • Compare the combined output with what those workers could produce separately at other stations.
  • Account for weather and station bonuses; a pairing that is excellent in one cycle may be ordinary in another.

Upgrade for flexibility, not just peak numbers

An upgrade that unlocks another worker or reduces a recurring energy problem can be more valuable than a narrow increase to one resource. With up to 20 workstations and more than 130 advertised upgrades, you cannot treat every option as equally urgent. Favor improvements that remove a repeated constraint in your current camp, then expand into specialized production once your basic loop is stable.

Do not postpone every ship part

The developer warns that ship parts can appear less urgent than immediate survival, but advises against waiting until the end to build them all. The warning does not establish a precise optimal build order. The practical lesson is to reserve some attention and materials for ship progress while maintaining food, medicine, and energy.

Review ship-part requirements whenever you plan a major camp project. If a future component needs a resource that is currently easy to obtain, gathering a surplus during a safe period can prevent a late campaign scramble. Do not sacrifice a critical treatment or food cycle solely to accelerate a part; the point is steady progress, not an inflexible rush.

Combat: prepare, protect, then attack

Combat is turn-based and tactical, and each character has a unique Power Surge ability according to the official game description. When fights are going badly, the developer recommends leveling the tank role at least once, unlocking skills, protecting teammates, applying buffs and debuffs, and striking after the setup is ready.

A safer combat sequence

  1. Assess the encounter: identify threats that can disable or heavily damage a teammate.
  2. Establish protection: use the tank role or defensive abilities to reduce pressure on vulnerable characters.
  3. Apply buffs and debuffs: improve your team’s position or weaken priority targets before spending every action on damage.
  4. Unlock and use skills: develop the abilities that match your party’s roles rather than holding advancement indefinitely.
  5. Commit to attacks: strike once protection and status effects make the exchange favorable.
  6. Preserve recovery capacity: remember that injuries from one fight can reduce camp output afterward.

This is supported general guidance, not a mandatory party composition. A high-damage opening may be correct when an enemy can be removed immediately; defensive setup is most valuable when a fight is likely to continue for several turns or when your crew cannot absorb a hit.

Approach Use it when What to watch
Immediate attack A target can be eliminated quickly and your team is not exposed to a dangerous counterattack Spending all actions on damage can leave allies unprotected
Protection and setup The encounter is prolonged, enemies apply debilitating effects, or a teammate is fragile Setup consumes turns; reassess if the enemy is already near defeat

Difficulty, endings, and why there is no universal route

The Steam listing presents four difficulty levels plus True Captain mode and five endings. Those options make experimentation part of the game. Advice that works on a forgiving setting may fail when resources, damage, or recovery windows are less generous. Likewise, a choice that supports one ending may not serve another.

For a first campaign, learn the care loop and camp economy before selecting the harshest challenge. On repeat runs, change one variable at a time—such as worker specialization, upgrade timing, or combat preparation—so you can identify which decision caused a failure. Do not assume that a single character roster, station order, or ending path is optimal across all modes.

Common problems and practical fixes

“My crew keeps getting weaker.”

Inspect fatigue, hunger, illness, stress, and injuries before assigning more work. Use food, rest, medicine, infirmary treatment, recreation, and the Ixion thermostat as a connected recovery plan. Worsening states can reduce skills, so adding workload without treatment may deepen the problem.

“Production is too slow.”

First decide whether the bottleneck is skill, energy, labor, or a missing upgrade. Put the strongest suitable worker on an urgent station, then consider a second-worker upgrade or a cooperative assignment when its bonuses and energy use justify it. Training a lower-level skill is better reserved for a period when the shortage is not critical.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

“I lose fights before I can act effectively.”

Invest in skills, level the tank role at least once, protect teammates, and use buffs or debuffs before committing to attacks. Review whether a camp injury penalty has weakened the party before entering another encounter.

“I reached the late game without enough ship parts.”

Do not defer every ship component until the final stretch. Keep ship requirements visible while you stabilize the camp, gather needed materials during safer windows, and avoid an all-at-once construction rush.

“A guide’s recipe or trade does not match my game.”

Community guides may reflect an older version, a different difficulty, or a different progression choice. Verify the guide date and version, then check the in-game station and requirement descriptions before spending scarce resources.

Windows PC requirements and availability

The Steam listing gives February 19, 2026 as the release date and lists Windows 10, 8 GB of RAM, 4 GB of available storage, and minimum CPU and GPU specifications. Because hardware requirements and supported configurations can change, check the live Steam store page for the exact processor and graphics models before buying or troubleshooting performance. The figures above describe the listed minimum configuration, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate or loading time.

Quick survival checklist

  • Check fatigue, hunger, illness, stress, and injuries before assigning work.
  • Use the strongest skill for urgent production; train weaker skills when the camp can absorb lower output.
  • Keep food and medicine available for the next recovery cycle.
  • Use the infirmary, recreation area, and Ixion thermostat as part of routine maintenance.
  • Upgrade stations that add flexibility, including second-worker options when their energy cost is justified.
  • Account for weather and station bonuses before pairing workers.
  • Make steady progress on ship parts instead of postponing all construction.
  • In difficult fights, protect allies and apply buffs or debuffs before attacking.
  • Adjust tactics for the selected difficulty and your intended ending.
  • Treat community walkthroughs as player advice and verify version-sensitive details.
