When did Dead Island 2 come out?
Dead Island 2 is a 2023 release, but Deep Silver’s pages give two different dates. The publisher’s co-op guide says players could join the adventure on April 21, 2023. Its account listing shows “Release April 28, 2023.” Neither page explains the discrepancy, so the available official information does not support presenting one date as an undisputed answer.

What time did Dead Island 2 unlock?
The cited publisher pages do not give an unlock hour or timezone. An exact launch time, including claims of a midnight release, cannot be verified from these sources.
Is Dead Island 2 on Xbox Game Pass?
Yes. Deep Silver announced that Dead Island 2 had landed on Game Pass for Xbox and PC. The announcement says the inclusion covers the base game, playable solo or in co-op, as well as Patch 6’s New Game+ and Neighborhood Watch modes. See the publisher’s Game Pass announcement.

That announcement confirms the game’s inclusion when it was published; it is not a guarantee that the title remains available in every region or subscription tier. Check the Game Pass catalog for your location before subscribing or making plans to play.
Can you buy it, and do you need Game Pass for multiplayer?
The US Xbox Store listing offers Dead Island 2 for Windows purchase. Its separate notice says online multiplayer on console requires Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate, sold separately. That condition concerns console online multiplayer; it should not be confused with whether the game itself is available through the subscription catalog. Store listings and subscription terms can vary by region.
