- Combat: A new enemy AI system gave zombies line of sight, and the update added new enemy animations.
- Playable content: Four classes and three challenges were added.

How the shop system changed
Shops shifted from prompt-based interaction to physical stock. General Stores went from four items to 12 randomized items, according to the 2025 changelog. Its listed new General Store merchandise included:
- Pickaxes
- Tomahawks
- Cavalry Swords
- Mining Helmets
- Lightning Rods
- Banjos
- Cannon Ammo
Other reported shop changes included Sheet Metal sold in crates of four, Navy Revolvers added to Gunsmiths, and limited stock in Nightmare Mode shops.

Balance and progression adjustments
The same changelog reports these changes to a run’s early progression and combat resources:
- The first town encountered would always be the smallest.
- The first night would never be a Full Moon.
- Fortified Town turret ammunition increased from 50 to 75 in ordinary mode; in Nightmare Mode, it was reduced to 50.
- Rifle Ammo’s listed price changed from $20 to $15.

Don’t confuse it with the April 19 Easter Update
The changelog lists an April 19 Easter Update separately from the April 11 Rework Update. The later update added Easter eggs as map loot, replaced the normal final encounter with the Easter Bunny boss, and introduced the Eggslinger Class and Eggstravaganza Mode. Those Easter features are not part of the April 11 patch.

The available April 11 details come from the Dead Rails Wiki changelog. The official April 11 announcement or in-game newspaper text was not available in the cited material, so the listed changes should be treated as changelog-reported rather than independently confirmed developer statements. A Roblox listing captured in the same source set describes a March 7 update, while a separate listing attributes an April 18 Easter update to a different creator; neither verifies the April 11 changes.
