To learn how to beat Nikola Tesla in Dead Rails, treat the Tesla Lab as the start of a two-part optional encounter: assemble the body on the operating table, flip the nearby lever to trigger a Scientist Zombie raid, then prepare for Tesla to return later at Outlaw’s Town. The raid is not the whole fight, so decide whether the Electrocutioner is worth the extra risk before you activate it.

Should you start the Tesla Lab encounter?

Starting the sequence earns access to the Electrocutioner after the raid, but the guide-reported route also leads to a later Tesla fight. Skipping the lever avoids that added encounter. The reward may suit players prepared to manage a lightning-powered weapon and a later boss; it is not an automatic advantage for every run.

Choice What it means
Leave the lab inactive Avoid the lab raid and the later Tesla encounter tied to this sequence.
Activate the lab Fight Scientist Zombies for the Electrocutioner, then keep resources for Tesla’s reported return at Outlaw’s Town.

The official Dead Rails Roblox experience description by Gangster Studios presents the game as a train journey through a zombie-infested desert. Its displayed update note is dated March 7, 2025, but the listing does not document Tesla mechanics. The step-by-step details below come from a Beebom guide dated April 11, 2025, with additional route details from community wiki pages; they are published guidance, not confirmation of every live-build mechanic.

Prepare before flipping the lever

Once activated, the lab sequence leads into a Scientist Zombie raid. The dated guide recommends approaching during daytime and bringing ranged weapons and healing. These are preparation recommendations, not mandatory equipment or a guaranteed strategy.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild The Complete Official Guide: -Expanded Edition
  • Brand New in box. The product ships with all relevant accessories
  • Bring ranged weapons and healing items you can spare for the raid.
  • Consider whether your supplies can cover both the lab fight and the later encounter.
  • If playing solo, plan conservatively; team play is suggested by the guide as an advantage, not a requirement.
  • Do not count on a specific ammunition total or weapon being essential—the published guide does not establish one.

Reassemble Tesla and start the raid

The Beebom walkthrough describes six scattered components inside the building: a torso, limbs, and a brain in a jar. Follow the building’s layout to locate them, then place each part on the central operating table. The walkthrough’s example locations are a guide-reported route; placements may change in later game builds.

  1. Search the lab building for all six body parts, including the brain in its jar.
  2. Carry the parts to the central operating table and place them individually.
  3. Go to the adjacent room on the right and activate the lever to begin the sequence.

After the lever is activated, expect Scientist Zombies. A community wiki reports a 20-second delay and 35 zombies, but those figures are not officially confirmed in the sources available here and may not match your run.

Clear the raid and collect the Electrocutioner

The walkthrough says the Electrocutioner is left behind after the raid and Tesla’s body disappears from the table. The guide describes the weapon as drawing ammunition from lightning rather than ordinary purchasable ammo. It also lists lightning rods, Holy Water, and a class-specific method as ways to recharge it. Treat those methods as reported by the April 11, 2025 guide, not as guaranteed current mechanics; check what the live game allows before building your run around them.

That ammunition system affects your loadout choice: carrying the Electrocutioner may mean investing in ways to recharge it, while your other weapons and healing still need to cover the remaining journey. Avoid spending supplies on the assumption that the weapon will be easy to recharge later.

Prepare for Tesla at Outlaw’s Town

The walkthrough and community wiki both describe Tesla returning as a boss at Outlaw’s Town toward the end of the run after the lab sequence. The 2025 guide recommends using the Electrocutioner, bringing protection and supplies, taking advantage of elevation, and fighting with a team where possible. These are published tactical suggestions, not verified exploits or guaranteed results. Keep enough resources for the later encounter rather than treating the lab raid as the end of the event.

Tesla’s exact health is unsettled: a community wiki lists 5,000 HP, while a mirror lists 5,800 HP. Neither figure is established as definitive, so do not plan around a particular health total without checking the current game.
