If Deadside is crashing on your PS5, start with the developer’s published advice: restart the console and router, then reinstall the game if the crashes continue. Deadside acknowledged console crashes in its August 12, 2025 version 1.5.7 announcement and said that update fixed their root cause, but that historical statement does not establish that every current crash is resolved. If Deadside remains the only game affected, report the details to Deadside support; if other games crash too, include that when contacting PlayStation Support.
What to do when Deadside crashes on PS5
- Fully restart the PS5 and router. Deadside’s official console troubleshooting guidance recommends restarting both. Test the game again afterward.
- Reinstall Deadside if the crashes continue. This is also one of the developer’s recommended steps. After reinstalling, launch the game and note whether the same crash occurs.
- Contact Deadside support if the problem persists. Describe when the crash happens and provide any error code. Include the game version and PS5 system software version if you can identify them.
Try PlayStation’s general PS5 game-start steps
If Deadside will not launch or you are having broader game-start trouble, PlayStation’s general game troubleshooting guidance also recommends checking that PS5 system software is current and using Safe Mode to clear the cache or rebuild the database. These are general platform troubleshooting options, not Deadside-specific fixes or guaranteed cures.

When contacting PlayStation Support, provide any error code, a detailed description and steps that reproduce the problem; a screenshot or video can also help. Mention whether other games crash as well.
What Deadside’s crash-fix announcement means
On August 12, 2025, Deadside announced console version 1.5.7 as a crash and stability update. The announcement said, “One critical issue is the crashing, we have fixed the root cause of these crashes, and improved overall stability as well.” That supports saying the developer addressed a known console crash issue in that version; it does not prove that all PS5 crashes have stopped or identify the cause of a crash you are seeing now.

A later console version 1.5.9 announcement, dated October 29, 2025, discusses bug fixes but does not claim to fix crashing. The official console known-issues page lists a server-version mismatch and a loading-screen hang, not a crash item. The page’s short list is not proof that no crash reports exist, and the later patch notes are not evidence of a crash fix.
Tell a game crash from a wider PS5 problem
Whether other games are affected is useful diagnostic context, not a confirmed explanation. If only Deadside crashes, the available official guidance does not establish that your console has a hardware fault. If several games crash, tell PlayStation Support that too. In either case, record whether Deadside crashes at launch, during a particular activity, or while joining a server, along with the game version, system software version, and any error code. Those details help support teams assess what is happening without assuming a cause.

Are accessories or replacement parts a crash fix?
No official guidance reviewed connects a controller, cooling accessory, storage device, network product, or repair component to fixing Deadside crashes. The PlayStation Store lists Deadside as a PS5 game with DualSense vibration and trigger-effect support, but those features are not evidence that a controller or accessory prevents crashes.
