What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
First, identify what “crashing” means. A crash to desktop usually points toward damaged files, drivers, software conflicts, firmware, or an in-game bug. A blue screen, complete black-screen lockup, or automatic PC restart can instead indicate deeper instability involving power, temperature, memory, the graphics card, processor, or motherboard.
Work through these eight fixes in order. The first steps are low-risk and apply to most players; the later ones are more specific and should only be used when the symptoms match. No single official fix resolves every Delta Force crash.
When Delta Force crashes, Outbyte PC Repair can review crash logs, clean temporary files, and adjust Windows settings as an optional step.

Before you start: classify the failure
| What happens? | Most likely troubleshooting direction |
|---|---|
| Delta Force closes to the desktop, but Windows keeps running | Game files, updates, graphics drivers, overlays, anti-cheat conflicts, BIOS, or an in-game issue |
| The screen freezes and the game must be terminated | Graphics driver, GPU stability, overheating, conflicting software, or insufficient system resources |
| Windows shows a blue screen | System driver, unstable hardware settings, RAM, CPU, motherboard, or broader Windows instability |
| The computer suddenly restarts or loses power | Power supply, overheating, motherboard, processor instability, or another hardware problem |
If other demanding games also crash or the entire computer restarts, do not treat Delta Force as the only possible cause. Record the symptoms and investigate the PC’s general stability as well.
1. Restart the game, Windows, and all pending updates
Delta Force is an actively updated live-service game. An update may not be completely applied until the game and its launcher have been closed and reopened. Official Delta Force update notices have specifically told players experiencing issues after an update to restart the game so the update can finish applying. Official PC patch notes published on June 30, 2026 also confirm that the PC version continues to receive updates and bug fixes.

- Exit Delta Force.
- Quit Steam or the Garena launcher completely. Check the notification area near the Windows clock and exit the launcher there too if it remains running.
- Restart Windows.
- Open the launcher and wait for every download, installation, or “validating” process to finish.
- Start Delta Force and test the same activity that previously caused the crash.
Do not assume that a particular patch caused your problem unless you know the update number and can match it to the time the crashes began. Live-service games can have several simultaneous causes, including local files and drivers.
2. Verify or repair the game files
Steam
Steam’s file-verification process checks the local installation against the expected game content and can replace missing or damaged files. Steam notes that the scan may take several minutes.
- Open Steam and go to Library.
- Right-click Delta Force and choose Properties.
- Select Installed Files.
- Click Verify integrity of game files.
- Wait for the process to finish, then launch the game again.
If Steam reports that a small number of files could not be verified, that does not automatically mean the installation is broken. Steam says local configuration files can fail verification normally. Pay more attention to whether Steam downloads replacement game content and whether the crash continues afterward.
Garena
Garena’s launcher can expose different controls from Steam. Use its built-in repair, file check, or similarly named option if the current launcher provides one. Do not follow a Steam-specific path in Garena if the control is absent. If repair is unavailable or does not help, reinstall through the official Garena launcher after backing up any settings you need to preserve.
3. Check the requirements for your distribution channel
Confirm whether you play the Steam or Garena version before comparing specifications. The published requirements are not identical.
Steam PC requirements
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 10 64-bit |
| DirectX | DirectX 12 | DirectX 12 |
| Processor | Intel Core i3-4150 or AMD FX-6300-class CPU | Intel Core i5-6500 or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X-class CPU |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | GeForce GTX 660, AMD HD 7870, or Intel Arc A380-class GPU | GeForce GTX 1060 5G, Radeon RX 5500 XT, or Intel Arc A580-class GPU |
| Storage | 88 GB available space | Check the current listing for the latest recommendation |
Garena’s published requirements differ in some details and list 60 GB of storage. Use the requirements for the launcher you actually use rather than combining the two lists.
Meeting the minimum specification does not guarantee a stable experience. Crashes can still occur if the PC is nearly out of storage, the GPU is short on usable video memory, the processor or graphics card has an unstable overclock, or background software conflicts with the game or anti-cheat system. Garena also recommends installing the game on an SSD for smoother reading of game data. That is a performance recommendation, not a guaranteed crash fix.

Compare your hardware with the requirements before buying anything. If the PC is below the minimum, or a component has been independently confirmed to be failing, a hardware replacement or upgrade may be appropriate—but replacing a component is not a general-purpose solution for every Delta Force crash.
4. Update Windows, DirectX, and your graphics driver
Delta Force’s Steam requirements specify DirectX 12. Microsoft distributes the latest DirectX components for supported Windows versions through Windows Update, so updating Windows is preferable to downloading DirectX files from an unofficial website.
- Open Settings > Windows Update.
- Install all available updates.
- Restart the PC, even if Windows does not immediately insist on a restart.
- Press Windows key + R, type
dxdiag, and press Enter. - Check the System tab and the Display tab. Use Save All Information if you need to provide a diagnostic report to support.
- Open Device Manager > Display adapters and confirm that the expected GPU appears without a warning icon.
- Install the current graphics driver from NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, or your computer manufacturer’s support page.
If the crashes started immediately after a graphics-driver update, rolling the driver back can be more sensible than installing another new release. If Delta Force is only one of several games crashing, save the dxdiag report and investigate the broader graphics-driver or hardware problem.

5. Close conflicting or prohibited software
Some software is harmless in ordinary desktop use but can conflict with Delta Force or its anti-cheat system. Garena’s official prohibited or not-recommended list includes categories such as debugging and analysis tools, process-monitoring tools, macro or automated-input utilities, virtual machines, DMA-related hardware, remote-control software, streaming and capture tools, and frame-capture tools. Garena warns that these may trigger error pop-ups and, depending on the severity, could lead to account suspensions or bans.
For a controlled crash test:
- Close nonessential overlays, recording applications, capture tools, macro software, hardware-monitoring or debugging tools, remote-access applications, and virtual-machine software.
- Exit their background processes from the Windows notification area or Task Manager if they do not close normally.
- Launch only the Delta Force launcher, the game, and essential Windows processes.
- Test the game again.
Do not bypass Anti-Cheat Expert, permanently disable Windows security, or add unexplained exclusions to security software. If security software is suspected, use the vendor’s documented troubleshooting process or contact support rather than leaving the PC unprotected.
6. Address Intel 13th- and 14th-generation processor instability
This is the most specific hardware-related fix in the official research. In a January 10, 2025 announcement, Delta Force said it had confirmed crashes affecting players with Intel 13th- and 14th-generation processors. The announcement connected the issue with processor instability and said that Intel microcode patches released in July 2024 must be applied through a motherboard BIOS update. Delta Force identified shader-compilation crashes, random in-game crashes, and exits associated with insufficient video memory among possible symptoms.

If your PC uses an affected Intel generation, take the following route:
- Identify the exact motherboard model. Check the motherboard itself, its manual, the original purchase information, or Settings > System > About for general system details.
- Visit the motherboard manufacturer’s support page and read the BIOS-update instructions for that exact model and revision.
- Choose a BIOS release that contains the relevant Intel microcode and follow the manufacturer’s procedure precisely.
- After the update, select Intel Default Settings in the firmware if that option is available. Avoid aggressive motherboard performance profiles while diagnosing instability.
BIOS warning: Flashing the wrong BIOS, interrupting power during the update, or using an incompatible file can leave the motherboard unusable. Back up important data, confirm the model and revision, connect reliable power, and do not interrupt the process. If you are not comfortable with firmware maintenance, obtain manufacturer or professional PC support.
Delta Force also mentions Intel Extreme Tuning Utility as a possible temporary troubleshooting measure to lower the Performance Core Ratio. Treat that as an advanced, manufacturer-supported diagnostic step—not a universal fix and not a substitute for the correct BIOS update. Do not change voltage or clock settings casually.
7. Enable Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 only when requested
Delta Force published a December 23, 2025 manual for players who see an in-game request to enable Secure Boot and TPM 2.0. These security features are relevant to a specific game or anti-cheat requirement. They are not a general cure for every ordinary crash to desktop.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
If the game specifically displays that requirement:
- Back up important files before changing firmware or disk-partition settings.
- Check whether the Windows system disk uses the GPT partition style.
- If it uses MBR, validate the situation carefully before considering an MBR-to-GPT conversion. Do not run a conversion blindly.
- Confirm that the PC is configured for UEFI boot mode rather than Legacy or Compatibility Support Module mode, where applicable.
- Enter the motherboard firmware settings and enable Secure Boot.
- Enable the firmware’s TPM 2.0 option. Depending on the processor, it may be labelled Intel PTT or AMD fTPM.
- Save the settings, boot back into Windows, and test Delta Force.
Firmware menus vary by motherboard. If Windows stops booting after a change, return to the manufacturer’s instructions and undo only the relevant setting; do not keep changing unrelated firmware options at random. If the game never reports a Secure Boot or TPM requirement, leave this step alone and continue with the other diagnostics.

If Delta Force still crashes, collect evidence before changing more settings. A support report is much more useful when it distinguishes a desktop crash from a system restart and identifies the exact point of failure.

Record these details
- Whether the failure is a desktop exit, freeze, blue screen, black screen, or full restart
- The launcher: Steam or Garena
- CPU and GPU models
- Amount of installed RAM and available storage
- Windows version
- Graphics-driver version and installation date
- Whether the crash happens at startup, during shader compilation, while loading a menu, or during a match
- Whether it happens every time or only occasionally
- Whether other games or demanding applications also fail
- Any error message, crash code, or recent BIOS, Windows, driver, or game update
Generate a DirectX diagnostic report by pressing Windows key + R, entering dxdiag, and selecting Save All Information. Preserve relevant crash reports and Windows Event Viewer entries if official support requests them. Avoid deleting logs before support has had a chance to review them.
Use Delta Force or Garena’s official customer-service links and community channels to report the problem. The official June 30, 2026 patch notes also invite feedback through official channels. Include the evidence above, rather than posting only “the game crashes.”
Community discussions sometimes mention overlays, browser or launcher processes, a -dx11 launch option, or BIOS changes. These are anecdotal reports, not guaranteed solutions. In particular, do not describe -dx11 as an officially supported fix unless a current official Delta Force source confirms it for your version.
Quick eight-fix checklist
- Restart Windows and let the Delta Force update finish.
- Verify Steam files, or use the Garena launcher’s repair option if available.
- Check the correct Steam or Garena requirements and available storage.
- Update Windows, DirectX through Windows Update, and the graphics driver.
- Close prohibited, capture, macro, debugging, remote-control, and virtual-machine software.
- On affected Intel 13th- or 14th-generation systems, update the BIOS and use Intel Default Settings.
- Enable Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 only when the game specifically requests them.
- Collect diagnostics and contact official support if the crash persists.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does Delta Force crash to desktop but not restart my PC?
A desktop crash is often related to game files, an update that did not finish, a graphics driver, conflicting software, anti-cheat interaction, firmware, or an in-game bug. Start with the first five fixes before changing BIOS settings.
Should I use the -dx11 launch option to fix Delta Force crashes?
Treat that as an unverified community workaround unless a current official Delta Force source confirms it for your version. It is not established here as an official fix.
Can meeting the minimum requirements prevent every Delta Force crash?
No. Minimum requirements do not guarantee stability. Free storage, available VRAM, unstable overclocks, background conflicts, drivers, firmware, and hardware faults can still cause crashes.
What should I do if Delta Force causes a blue screen or full restart?
Treat it as a possible system-stability, temperature, power, driver, or hardware problem rather than an ordinary game-file problem. Record the stop code or Event Viewer information, check whether other games fail, and seek manufacturer or professional PC diagnostics if the problem continues.
The Bottom Line
Start with a complete restart and update, verify the installation, check the correct requirements, update Windows and the graphics driver, and remove conflicting software from the test environment. If you use an Intel 13th- or 14th-generation processor, prioritize the motherboard BIOS and Intel Default Settings guidance. Only change Secure Boot and TPM when Delta Force explicitly asks for them. A persistent blue screen or full system restart deserves broader PC diagnostics, not an endless cycle of game-specific tweaks.
