That is a developer-reported enforcement count from a dated weekly notice—not proof that all 1,729 were confirmed cheaters, a count of ten-year bans, or a measure of how many players cheat. The announcement does not establish that player backlash caused the action.
What the 1,729 figure counts
In a notice published Dec. 26, 2024, Delta Force’s security team reported: “This week (December 20-26, 2024), our security team took action against 1729 players, imposing bans of up to 10 years.” The period is Dec. 20–26, not a current weekly total. The notice does not explain whether these categories overlap or represent distinct people. They should not be added together or treated as a total number of unique cheaters.

Does Delta Force use kernel-level anti-cheat?
Yes. In a Dec. 24, 2024, announcement, Delta Force G.T.I. Security said the game uses a kernel-level anti-cheat mechanism. The team described kernel-level software as operating at a fundamental level of the operating system, with access to system resources while the relevant program is running. That is the developer’s explanation, not an independent technical audit. Read the kernel-level anti-cheat announcement on Steam.
That privileged operating-system access is relevant to concerns about how intrusive an anti-cheat system may be. But the cited announcements do not specify what telemetry ACE collects, how long it is retained, or how independent security experts have assessed the software. They therefore do not establish that the system is spyware, safe, unsafe, or responsible for a security flaw.

What the follow-up said about kernel-level cheats
In a Dec. 27, 2024, follow-up, G.T.I. Security said kernel-level cheats accounted for over 70% of penalized cheats since Open Beta launched, and that nearly 50% of those cheaters had received 10-year bans. The team did not explain the denominator or measurement method. The reported 70% is a share of penalized cheats—not a share of all players or all people who cheat. The follow-up also announced action against deliberate teaming with confirmed cheaters and compensation for some victims in Hazard Operation. Those are separate measures from the Dec. 20–26 tally.

Does 1,729 mean a certain percentage of players cheat?
No. The weekly notice gives an enforcement count but no player-base denominator, so it cannot establish a cheating rate. Enforcement totals also depend on what the team counts as an action and how it groups cases; the notice does not provide enough detail to turn the figure into a prevalence estimate.
What is known about bans and appeals?
Delta Force’s G.T.I. Security page identifies Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE) as a game-security solution used by the team. The page says ban durations can vary and describes an appeal process involving real-time monitoring and manual review. Regional rules can also differ. For example, Garena’s code of conduct, dated Dec. 12, 2024, prohibits cheating and unauthorized software and lists account and device penalties. The notices establish that Delta Force disclosed a kernel-level anti-cheat mechanism and reported enforcement activity. They do not quantify player backlash, show that it was representative, or establish that backlash prompted the Dec. 20–26 actions. Describing the figure as a response to an “invasive anti-cheat backlash” goes beyond what these announcements demonstrate.
