The useful question now is what those chapters leave unresolved—and which mysteries Toby Fox has actually said will be addressed later.
Fox says Chapter 6 will make “ONE thing” clear, but he has not identified that revelation in his Summer 2026 newsletter. He also warns that Chapter 6 will leave many subjects untouched. So the honest answer is not a promised checklist of solutions: it is a distinction between what the released story establishes, what remains open, and what fans are still inferring.
What questions did Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 leave unanswered?
Chapters 3 and 4 continue DELTARUNE’s larger story, but the official comments currently available do not provide a scene-by-scene inventory of every unresolved plot thread. It would be misleading to present a definitive list of mysteries or attach specific answers to Chapter 6 without checking the relevant game scenes. The clearest supported approach is to treat the major open questions as questions the game invites players to investigate, not as mysteries already confirmed for a particular future chapter.
For any proposed mystery, separate three kinds of evidence:

- On-screen evidence: what the released chapters actually show or say.
- Creator commentary: what Fox has publicly confirmed about the story’s later structure.
- Fan interpretation: an explanation that may fit clues but has not been confirmed.
That distinction matters because Fox says he generally does not read or watch theories about the game. He appreciates speculation, but cautions that “there may be missing information currently, and the way certain information is interpreted or put together may be different from what I had in mind.” A convincing theory is still not an answer unless the game or Fox confirms it.
Which Deltarune mysteries will Chapter 6 answer?
Fox has not named the specific revelation. In the DELTARUNE Summer Newsletter 2026, he says: “Whether you’re ready for it or not, ONE thing will become clear.” The statement confirms that Chapter 6 will clarify something, but it does not say what that is or identify a particular fan theory as correct.
Fox also describes Chapter 6 as comparatively short and focused directly on one story element, while warning: “There is still a lot that Chapter 6 will not touch upon.” He says players should understand his pacing choice after Chapter 7. That sets expectations for a focused installment, not a general resolution of every question raised in Chapters 3 and 4.
What later-story comments establish
- Fox says Chapter 5 completed the final preparation for Chapters 6 and 7.
- In his description, Chapters 6 onward begin showing the results of that preparation.
- Chapter 6 will focus on one story element; one thing will become clear, but many subjects will remain unaddressed.
- Fox expects the reasoning behind this pacing to be clearer after Chapter 7.
These are statements about structure and pacing. They do not confirm the identity of the Chapter 6 revelation, settle any particular theory, or promise that a mystery from either Chapter 3 or Chapter 4 will be resolved in Chapter 6.

What changed after Chapters 3 and 4?
The story is no longer waiting on Chapters 3 and 4. Toby Fox’s release newsletter announced Chapters 1–4 for Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in 2025. Nintendo of Canada’s June 24, 2026 announcement says Chapters 1–4 are available and Chapter 5 is being added as a free update; it also says more chapters will be added later as free updates.
Chapter 5’s official Japanese release announcement gives June 25, 2026. Nintendo Canada’s page is dated June 24, reflecting regional timing rather than a conflicting global date. Nintendo’s listing describes availability in Canada; its regional price or listing details should not be assumed to apply elsewhere. Fox’s Summer 2026 newsletter is the source for the later-chapter comments discussed above.
How to avoid mistaking a theory for a spoiler or a confirmed answer
Fox warned players around the Chapters 3 and 4 release to limit social-media and video-site browsing until they had progressed far enough, because recommendation algorithms can surface spoilers. That remains useful advice when searching for explanations: a video title or thumbnail may reveal a plot development before a player reaches it, and a theory presented confidently is not necessarily canon.
- Play through the relevant chapter before searching for scene explanations or reactions.
- When evaluating a claim, look for the actual game scene or a direct official statement rather than repetition across fan posts.
- Label interpretations as theories unless the game or Fox explicitly confirms them.
- Keep in mind that a missing clue may change how an apparent pattern should be read.
Fox’s comments support caution, not dismissal of fan analysis: speculation can be enjoyable, but the official story remains the authority on what is true.
