What is a bright red Nichirin Sword?
A Nichirin Sword is the weapon Tanjiro uses in Demon Slayer. His characteristic blade is jet black, according to the official product description for Bandai Spirits’ PROPLICA collectible. The bright-red blade is a separate, temporary story state—not the sword’s standard color and not the color of that documented replica.
The official Swordsmith Village Arc character page says Tanjiro uses Water Breathing and Hinokami Kagura. It also explains that he travels to the Swordsmith Village to meet Haganezuka after chipping his Nichirin Sword in the Entertainment District battle. It is therefore too strong to say that Hinokami Kagura alone simply turns Tanjiro’s blade red. The available official character profile confirms that he uses Hinokami Kagura, but does not connect it to the red state. Does the PROPLICA Tanjiro sword replica turn red?
No. Bandai Spirits describes its PROPLICA Tanjiro Nichirin Sword as jet black, matching the sword’s characteristic color rather than the temporary red story state. It is a display-oriented collectible, approximately 1/1 scale and about 880 mm long, made of ABS and die-cast material.
