Demon’s Souls update 1.007.000 arrived on October 16, 2025, adding support for the PS5’s Power Saver feature. The October 16, 2025 update enables PS5 Power Saver support in Demon’s Souls, according to contemporaneous reporting by MP1st. Sony had named the game as one that would receive support in a future game update in its Power Saver announcement.

Sony says supported PS5 games “will scale back performance” when the setting is enabled, allowing the console to reduce its power consumption. That is a general description of the feature, not a measured result for Demon’s Souls: Sony has not published a game-specific power-savings figure or technical breakdown.

How do you turn on Power Saver for Demon’s Souls?
- On your PS5, open Settings > System > Power Saving.
- Select Use Power Saver to enable the option.
- Launch Demon’s Souls. The game must support the feature; update 1.007.000 added that support.
Sony notes that VR mode is unavailable while Power Saver is active and that some gameplay features may be limited. Its announcement does not identify which, if any, specific Demon’s Souls features are affected.
Is the update free, and do you need to buy the game again?
The update adds support to the existing PS5 game; it is not a separate game purchase. Demon’s Souls is also listed as a physical PS5 disc edition by PlayStation Direct, but buying that edition is optional and is not required just to obtain the update.
