Style, characters and supernatural atmosphere
Reviews also point to the game’s visual identity, cast and writing as reasons to play. Its story follows Faye and her companions on a mysterious island, mixing university life with light horror. Is Demonschool worth playing?
Critic reception points to a good match for players who want a stylish, character-focused supernatural tactics RPG, enjoy planning and revising a turn, and prefer an accessible combat loop over punishing difficulty. The school schedule and relationships give the battles a broader character-driven context.
It is a more uncertain fit if your priority is deep tactical challenge, consistently varied encounters, or verified current performance on a particular device. Demonschool, developed by Necrosoft Games and published by Ysbryd Games, released on November 19, 2025. Metacritic lists PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, PS5, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch 2. Availability can vary by region and storefront, so check the listing where you intend to play. The US PlayStation Store listing says subtitles cover the main story and main characters only.
Player reviews and critic reviews are different measures
Steam displayed 91% positive from 984 user reviews when accessed October 8, 2026. That is a time-sensitive, user-generated storefront figure, not a critic score or a survey of all players.
