The filing is a request for expedited discovery—not an order compelling the platforms to disclose anything. The materials available here do not establish whether the judge has ruled on it.
Why Denuvo wants the platforms’ records
Denuvo says it needs the information to learn who it sued and serve that person or entity. Its motion asks the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California to allow limited discovery before the usual Rule 26(f) conference. Denuvo describes the target as an unknown individual or entity and says its attempts to learn the identity directly from the platforms did not succeed because compulsory legal process was required.
The motion, filed in case 4:26-cv-10423-HSG before Judge Haywood S. Gilliam Jr., puts the purpose narrowly: “Denuvo seeks leave of the Court to serve limited discovery on Discord, Inc., Valve Corporation, and Reddit, Inc. solely to determine Defendant’s true identity.” That is Denuvo’s characterization of its request, not a ruling by the court. The proposed demands differ by platform. They describe information Denuvo wants to obtain; the filings and reporting cited here do not establish that any platform has produced it.

Denuvo says it approached the companies before filing but could not identify the defendant through those requests. TorrentFreak reports that Valve and Reddit cited privacy policies and Discord did not respond; that account is reporting about the companies’ responses, not platform statements independently reviewed here.
What voices38 is accused of doing
Denuvo sued voices38 in September 2026, alleging circumvention of its Anti-Tamper technology and distribution of circumvention materials or instructions. The complaint reportedly asserts claims under the DMCA’s anti-circumvention provisions. It does not make Denuvo the owner of the games named in the allegations, and the materials reviewed do not show a court finding voices38 liable.

The complaint reportedly identifies 26 games, including Hogwarts Legacy, Black Myth: Wukong, Resident Evil Requiem and Doom: The Dark Ages. Those titles are part of Denuvo’s allegations, not a verified finding about what the defendant did. TorrentFreak’s September 16 report on the lawsuit provides the complaint background.
What the reported cryptocurrency transactions do—and do not—show
The motion and a supporting declaration mention transaction information. TorrentFreak reports that Denuvo refers to Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana transactions and names the exchange FixedFloat. The report says Denuvo did not explain how it connected those transactions to voices38 or whether they could reveal an identity. The proposed platform discovery does not include a subpoena to FixedFloat, so the crypto references should be treated as an investigative lead, not proof of who voices38 is.

Has the judge approved the subpoenas?
The sources available for this article establish that Denuvo filed the motion on October 2, 2026; they do not establish a later order granting or denying it. They also do not show that subpoenas were issued or served, that platforms produced records, or that voices38’s identity is known. Until a court ruling and any subsequent steps are confirmed, it would be inaccurate to say the platforms have been ordered to disclose data.
