The price was a deliberate premium positioning at launch, according to No More Robots director Mike Rose in a 2022 interview. He said the publisher wanted the mobile release to feel like a full-quality premium game; that explains the launch decision, not a promise that the current price is fixed everywhere. What kind of game is Descenders?
Descenders is a downhill freeriding game. Google Play describes procedurally generated terrain, freestyle bike controls, risk-versus-reward play, progression through Rep, and competition tied to team identity. The randomized runs are intended to make repeated descents vary, while taking risks feeds into the game’s progression loop. These are the store’s descriptions of the game, rather than a claim that every feature feels identical across platforms.

When did the Android port arrive?
The mobile version launched on iOS and Android in August 2022 through Noodlecake. RageSquid developed the game, while No More Robots published it on other platforms. Pocket Gamer’s launch coverage reported the mobile release; Noodlecake’s official Descenders page provides the publisher’s game and support route.
Will it work on your Android phone?
There is no current device compatibility matrix in the sources reviewed here, so a specific phone’s performance cannot be confirmed from them. At launch, Mike Rose said Android’s broad range of devices meant some had issues. That is useful historical context, not evidence that a particular model still has a problem today. TouchArcade’s 2022 interview also says Noodlecake handled most of the porting work.
The available sources do not specify a current minimum Android version, a list of tested phone models, or a universally supported controller. Check the current Google Play listing for your device’s availability, and avoid assuming that performance or controls are the same on every Android phone.
