Mobility still affects how movement feels in Destiny 2, but it is no longer an armor stat you can invest in. With Armor 3.0, Bungie deprecated the player-facing Mobility stat and reassigned that stat slot to Weapons. The old movement and jump benefits now come from a class-specific baseline, while class-ability cooldowns are controlled by the Class stat. Hunters therefore should not stack Mobility to recharge dodge faster; they should inspect Class and the cooldown shown for their equipped dodge.
What Mobility means in Destiny 2 now
The answer depends on which part of the old stat you mean. The name Mobility disappeared from the player-facing armor-stat system with The Edge of Fate and Armor 3.0. Bungie’s June 5, 2025 announcement summarized the conversion as “Mobility is now Weapons.” You no longer allocate armor-stat points to a Mobility column in order to improve movement or recharge a class ability.

The movement and jump behavior that used to be associated with Mobility was not removed altogether. Bungie fixed those effects at a baseline for every character, with the baseline differing by class. The published values are expressed as the equivalent of 30 Mobility for Titans and Warlocks and 40 Mobility for Hunters. Those are design values, not a performance study or a recommended target to reach.
| Class | Former Mobility movement/jump baseline | Class ability | What controls its cooldown now |
|---|---|---|---|
| Titan | Equivalent to 30 Mobility | Barricade | Class stat and the equipped ability’s displayed cooldown |
| Warlock | Equivalent to 30 Mobility | Rift | Class stat and the equipped ability’s displayed cooldown |
| Hunter | Equivalent to 40 Mobility | Dodge | Class stat and the equipped ability’s displayed cooldown |
The practical split is important: baseline movement and jump behavior is one system, and class-ability uptime is another. Treating them as one stat is the source of most outdated build advice.

Does Mobility still reduce Hunter dodge cooldown?
No. The old relationship between Mobility tiers and Hunter dodge recharge is no longer the current system. Bungie’s Armor 3.0 changes moved class-ability cooldown and class-energy gains to the new Class stat. The in-game stat hover menu reports the effect of your current Class investment and shows the equipped ability’s cooldown.
Hunters still have two dodge variants with different purposes, such as reloading a weapon or creating melee energy. A dodge that reloads, a dodge that grants melee energy, and other variants can therefore produce different build outcomes even before fragments, armor mods, or exotic effects are considered. The correct way to compare them is to equip the ability you intend to use and read its displayed cooldown rather than applying a pre-2025 Mobility tier chart.
How to check your current dodge cooldown
- Open the character screen and move to the armor-stat panel.
- Highlight the Class stat to open its hover information.
- Read the equipped class ability’s cooldown and the class-energy gains shown by the game.
- Change the Class investment or the dodge variant, then check the displayed value again.
- Test the complete build in the activity where you will use it, because additional ability effects can change how often a dodge is available in practice.
This check is more reliable than copying a Mobility number from an older Hunter guide. Those guides describe the pre–The Edge of Fate rules unless they explicitly document the 2025 redesign.

How movement and jump bonuses work after the stat change
Bungie’s July 10, 2025 announcement identified the Enhanced Athletics leg armor mod as the direct in-game way to increase the base movement speed and jump effects that were formerly associated with Mobility. If your priority is a quicker-feeling character, inspect your leg armor and determine whether the mod fits the energy cost and the rest of your build.
Enhanced Athletics is not a replacement Class-stat investment. It addresses movement and jump behavior, whereas Class addresses class-ability cooldown and class-energy gains. You may use one, both, or neither depending on whether your activity rewards repositioning, vertical access, or frequent dodge, rift, or barricade use.

| Effect you want | Current place to look | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Base movement speed and jump effects | Enhanced Athletics leg armor mod | Bungie named this mod as the post-redesign movement option; its value depends on your available armor energy and build. |
| Additional movement speed or jump height | Amplified and other active effects | These effects can boost movement or jump behavior independently of the removed Mobility stat. |
| Movement from a weapon | Lightweight Frame weapons | The weapon’s frame and its current perks or state matter; this is separate from Class investment. |
| Dodge, rift, or barricade availability | Class stat and equipped ability | Read the cooldown shown in the current game rather than using an old Mobility table. |
Amplified and Lightweight Frame weapons remain examples Bungie gave of effects that can increase movement speed and jump height. Their presence means two characters with the same class baseline can still move differently because of subclass state, weapon frame, or armor-mod choices.
Choose the stat by the result you need
If your goal is class-ability uptime
Start with the Class stat. A Hunter building around repeated dodges, a Warlock cycling rifts, or a Titan maintaining barricades should compare the cooldown displayed for the exact ability in use. Then account for the effects that return class energy or alter ability behavior in the chosen subclass and equipment. There is no reason to spend armor-stat budget chasing a Mobility value that no longer exists.
If your goal is a faster or higher-feeling movement kit
Look at Enhanced Athletics, then identify whether Amplified or a Lightweight Frame weapon is already part of your loadout. Consider the armor energy those choices consume and what you give up: a leg slot or weapon choice can compete with survivability, ammo, surge, or other activity-specific tools. The right choice is the one that improves the movement problem you actually experience, not the one that produces a familiar number on an old build planner.
If your goal is both
Separate the decisions. Use Class investment for the ability loop and a movement source for traversal or gunplay. A Hunter can pursue a dodge-focused loop through Class while using Enhanced Athletics for movement; a Titan or Warlock can make the same separation for barricade or rift builds. Keeping the goals separate also makes troubleshooting easier when a build feels slow or an ability appears late.
What old Armor 2.0 advice got right—and what is now obsolete
Bungie’s legacy Armor 2.0 help material described Mobility as increasing base movement speed and specifically noted that it did not increase sprint speed. Community references from that period also documented movement, initial jump height, and Hunter class-ability cooldown across historical tiers. Those descriptions were useful for the system that existed before The Edge of Fate; they are not a current stat guide.

| Pre–The Edge of Fate advice | Current interpretation |
|---|---|
| Stack Mobility to make Hunter dodge recharge faster. | Use the Class stat and inspect the dodge cooldown in the current stat menu. |
| Raise Mobility tiers for movement and jump improvements. | Those effects are supplied by the class baseline; Enhanced Athletics and other listed effects can add to them. |
| Use a tier-by-tier Mobility chart for every class. | Do not apply the chart to the post-2025 system. The baseline is class-specific and the old stat is deprecated. |
| Assume a Mobility investment changes sprint speed. | The old Armor 2.0 description said Mobility did not affect sprint speed; current movement bonuses come from the effects Bungie lists for the new system. |
When you inherit an older build, first identify its publication date and the game version it describes. Replace the old Mobility allocation with a current Class-stat plan if the build’s purpose was ability uptime. Re-evaluate movement separately instead of assuming the same armor pieces produce the same result today.

- Write down the build’s intended loop. Is it repeated dodge, rift, or barricade use, or is the problem simply that traversal feels sluggish? Do not solve both questions with one obsolete stat.
- Check the class ability. Equip the dodge, rift, or barricade variant you actually intend to play and record the cooldown displayed in the Class-stat hover menu.
- Set Class investment first. Adjust armor pieces and mods until the displayed cooldown fits the loop you need, while preserving the resilience, recovery, discipline, strength, and other requirements of the activity.
- Inspect the legs. If movement or jumping is the problem, test Enhanced Athletics and note the energy cost and the leg mod it displaces.
- Review weapons and subclass state. Check whether Amplified or a Lightweight Frame weapon already supplies a movement or jump benefit before spending another armor slot.
- Test in the real environment. Compare the build in a patrol, strike, raid encounter, or Crucible map that resembles your use case. Pay attention to whether the movement benefit helps you reach cover, a platform, an angle, or an objective.
- Change one variable at a time. Altering Class, leg mods, weapons, and subclass effects together makes it impossible to identify which change affected the feel or cooldown.
PvE and PvP considerations
There is no universal PvE or PvP Mobility target established by Bungie’s published material. Activities place different value on traversal, aerial control, cover access, objective rotations, and class-ability loops. A raid mechanic that rewards a barricade on demand can make Class more valuable to a Titan than a movement mod; a map with frequent elevation changes can make jump and movement effects more noticeable without creating a mandatory number.
In PvE, evaluate whether a movement adjustment saves time, avoids damage, or reaches a mechanic consistently. In PvP, test whether the change affects your routes, strafe habits, jump control, or ability timing without sacrificing the defensive stats and weapon perks that win your engagements. These are playstyle and activity decisions, not proof that one class should pursue a fixed Mobility score.

“My Mobility stat disappeared, so my character lost movement.”
The stat label was deprecated, but Bungie fixed the former effects at a class-specific baseline. Check the class you are playing and then inspect Enhanced Athletics or other active movement effects if you want more.
“My old Hunter build says 100 Mobility, so dodge must still be fastest.”
The number belongs to the previous system. Rebuild around the Class stat and verify the equipped dodge’s cooldown in the current menu.

“Enhanced Athletics should lower my dodge cooldown.”
It is a movement and jump option. Class investment governs class-ability cooldown and class-energy gains; the two should not be substituted for one another.
“Every class should have the same movement baseline.”
Bungie published different equivalents: 30 Mobility for Titans and Warlocks, and 40 for Hunters. That difference is intentional in the post-redesign rules.
“A Lightweight Frame weapon is just a cosmetic preference.”
Bungie lists Lightweight Frame weapons among effects that can boost movement speed and jump height. Include the frame in your movement comparison, while remembering that weapon selection has its own damage and handling trade-offs.
The 2025 change in context
The transition was announced in stages. On June 5, 2025, Bungie’s Sandbox Team described the Armor 3.0 conversion with the phrase “Mobility is now Weapons” and specified the class baselines. On July 10, Bungie clarified that the player-facing Mobility stat was deprecated and named Enhanced Athletics as the leg mod for raising movement and jump effects. Update 9.0.0.1, published July 15, documented the Class stat’s role in class-ability cooldown and class-energy gains.
Those dates explain why search results disagree. A guide written before The Edge of Fate can accurately describe its own version while giving incorrect instructions for the current game. Date-check any tier chart, build video, or stat calculator before using it.
Current decision checklist
- Are you trying to improve a class ability or movement? They now use separate systems.
- For dodge, rift, or barricade uptime, did you check the Class stat and the displayed cooldown?
- For movement or jumping, did you inspect Enhanced Athletics, Amplified, and Lightweight Frame options?
- Did you account for the class baseline: 30-equivalent for Titans and Warlocks, 40-equivalent for Hunters?
- Is the advice you are following dated before The Edge of Fate?
- Did you test the complete build in the activity where it will be used instead of chasing a legacy tier?
Mobility matters as a gameplay feeling and as a set of movement effects, but it is no longer an armor-stat investment. Build Class for dodge, rift, or barricade uptime; use Enhanced Athletics and other current effects when movement or jump performance is the problem; and treat pre–The Edge of Fate Mobility charts as historical documentation rather than instructions for the live system.
