Destiny 2’s Solstice 2025 ended on August 19, 2025. It was a two-week event, and Bungie said its event items could no longer be used or claimed after it ended. This is a retrospective guide, not a set of instructions for a live event. The main objective was to use the Solstice Forge to unlock a full armor set and then earn its glows.
How Solstice 2025 progression worked
Bungie described the event’s goal as using the Solstice Forge to create a full armor set and then make it glow. The general Solstice guide outlines the basic progression: unlock the event milestone, visit Eva Levante in the Tower, obtain the Forge, and earn Solstice Alloy by completing activities. Spend Alloy to unlock armor pieces, then keep completing activities to unlock their glows. The Solstice Keepsake Memento became available after obtaining the glows for a complete Solstice set.
The general guide lists New Light as the entry requirement and says the milestone directs eligible new players to Eva Levante in the Tower Courtyard. Its overview also describes EAZ and Bonfire Bash, but those were not part of the 2025 event plan.
What activities were available in 2025?
Portal activities and Solar modifiers
For the 2025 event, Bungie added Solar-themed modifiers to Portal activities instead of Bonfire Bash. In matchmaking activities, modifiers rotated daily, with Hot Potato remaining active each day. Players could also select modifiers through custom difficulty selection. Bungie’s July 31, 2025 This Week In Destiny post highlighted these examples:

- Hot Potato: Defeated combatants dropped passable Solar flares; passing them increased damage.
- Fired Up: Solar damage and final blows built a heat meter that triggered Solar weapon explosions.
- Class Healing: Using a class ability healed the player.
- Igniter: Precision hits on scorched combatants caused ignitions.
Bungie said these were four examples among more modifiers.
Solstice Scorched Crucible playlist
Solstice Scorched was a Crucible playlist featuring Clash, Control, and Rift. Both teams used Scorch Cannons; charging a cannon after firing increased its area damage. Unlike the Portal activities, this was a dedicated Crucible option.

Event rank track and Reward Shop
The event home offered free rewards that included a unique emblem, a Ghost shell, and Holofoil weapons. Daily and weekly challenges advanced the event rank track. The Reward Shop offered weapons for direct purchase up to Tier 4, depending on Guardian Rank, as well as weapon and armor engrams up to Tier 4, Glimmer stacks, and Enhancement Cores.
Holofoil weapons and the final-week deadline
In its August 14, 2025 final-week notice, Bungie called out Holofoil versions of Yeartide Apex, Festival Flight, and Fortunate Star, urging players to obtain them before the event ended on August 19. Bungie also advised players to upgrade Lustrous armor and earn its glows, claim rank rewards, and spend event tokens before the deadline.
