The confirmed weapon list for Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate is not a complete expansion-wide roster: the available sources document seven weapons in The Desert Perpetual raid, plus three Exotic weapons in a pre-release preview whose acquisition details may have changed. This guide separates those confirmed names from broader Kepler gear sources and explains how Bungie’s gear tiers work.
The Desert Perpetual raid weapons
PC Gamer’s encounter loot table, published July 21, 2025, documents these seven weapons. It describes the six named legendary weapons as non-craftable and says they have the Frame of Reference origin trait. Whirling Ovation is the raid-exclusive Exotic listed in the table.

Other named Exotic weapons reported for The Edge of Fate
A PC Gamer preview published July 11, 2025 names three additional Exotics, but its acquisition information is preview-era reporting rather than a current, verified checklist:

- Third Iteration: described as a season-pass scout rifle.
- Graviton Spike: described as a craftable hand cannon expected to come from a quest. The word “expected” matters; the preview does not establish a current acquisition route.
- New Land Beyond: described as an Exotic sniper associated with Year of Prophecy editions at the time. Bungie’s May 6, 2025 reveal identified it as an Exotic Sniper Rifle and said the Ultimate or Collector’s Edition pre-order included an instant unlock then. That historical offer does not establish present availability.

Why this is not a complete expansion-wide weapon list
The seven-item raid table covers one activity, not every weapon released across the campaign, destination, seasonal content, and other activities. The three Exotics above come from a pre-release preview, while Bungie’s June 5, 2025 weekly article confirms the Spread Shot Hand Cannon archetype without naming a full set of weapons. The available named information therefore supports a documented roster, not a definitive list of every new weapon in the expansion.

The Edge of Fate was announced for July 15, 2025 and takes place on Kepler. Bungie’s July 2, 2025 weapon-tier explainer describes how Kepler weapons can be obtained and improved; it does not provide an exhaustive weapon inventory.
How to get Kepler weapons and higher gear tiers
Start with Kepler’s general loot sources
Bungie lists exploration and secrets, campaign missions, chests, and engram focusing with local resources as ways to get Kepler gear. After the campaign, replay difficulties can award higher-tier gear, and a post-campaign activity can provide more Kepler loot. In the Portal, harder and faster completions improve the chance of receiving higher gear tiers.

Use the activity rotation for targeted higher-tier drops
In an August 19, 2025 update, Bungie said the Time Latch Missions playlist was the best activity for random higher-tier Kepler gear, or The Sieve when active. Bungie also said both weekly missions still awarded one high-tier Kepler item per week on first completion. The Sieve’s availability is conditional, and the statement is dated; check the current in-game activity listing rather than assuming the same rotation is always active. See Bungie’s August 19, 2025 update.

Bungie’s July 2, 2025 description sets out five weapon tiers. These tiers add traits, mod or component benefits, origin-trait bonuses, and cosmetic rewards; a higher tier is not automatically a better weapon for every build.

Bungie further says a fully Masterworked Tier 5 weapon receives +5 to all stats in addition to the Masterwork’s +10. Those are the published system details in the July 2, 2025 explainer.
Choose perk synergy, not just the tier number
Bungie’s Destiny 2 Team cautioned on July 2, 2025: “perk synergies are still the prized chase on weapons and even lower tiered gear with synergistic perks may be stronger than a higher tier.” In practice, treat tier as one part of a weapon’s value: compare its traits and how they support the build you actually use. The cited sources do not establish a current performance ranking for these weapons.
