The nine doors are grouped into Dispel Levels 1, 2, and 3, with three locations per tier. Follow the landmarks below and check your quest tracker for access; a fireteam member who has the required Dispel level can open a door, but each player must personally interact with the bone.
How the Dispel doors work
The first bone is available at the end of the dungeon, beside the final chest. Collecting it starts the quest progression that unlocks the Taken Corruption doors in stages. The remaining nine bones are behind those doors: three at Dispel Level 1, three at Level 2, and three at Level 3. Completing the full set may take more than one traversal if your quest has not yet unlocked every tier.

Use the live quest tracker to confirm which Dispel level is available. Older guides can disagree about the ordinal numbering of individual bones, so the directions here identify each door by its dungeon landmark and current tier grouping.

Hefnd’s Cairn — final chest
Defeat Hefnd, then interact with the corrupted bone beside the final chest. Collect it before leaving the encounter area.

Dispel Level 1 — first fortress before Rathil
After crossing the rope bridge, enter the fortress before the Rathil encounter. Climb the stairs, pass beneath the iron gate, and descend the interior stairs to the Taken Corruption door.

Dispel Level 1 — first ceiling climb after the prison
Escape the prison and climb through the first ceiling opening. Clear the spike trap along the left wall; the corruption door is on the right.

Dispel Level 1 — cliff beyond Locus
After the Locus encounter, follow the outside cliff edge to its end. Enter the doorway in the mountain to find the door.

Dispel Level 2 — snowfallen prison maze
After the prison ceiling climb, pass through the natural opening in the broken wall. In the corridor with a double spike wall followed by a single spike trap, clear the traps and take the left hall.

Dispel Level 2 — Tempest fort exterior
After crossing the broken bridge under Hefnd’s bombardment, clear the Scorn fortress. At the point where the route turns left and upward, go right along the outer cliff until you reach a sewer-like opening.

Dispel Level 2 — summit base
After Locus and the courtyard with mimic chests, squeeze through the crack in the wall and climb through the cavern. In the snowy Scorn room before the giant Taken-blight section, look for a concealed opening in the wall.

Dispel Level 3 — second ceiling climb after the prison
Later in the prison maze, descend the stone stairs and climb through the second ceiling opening. In the upper corridor, skip the drop that advances the route and cross over the pit. The door is around the corner.

Dispel Level 3 — giant Taken-blight chamber
Reach the Taken push-wall section near the enormous orb. Drop to the small ledge beside the pushers and follow it to a ruined alcove containing the door.

Dispel Level 3 — broken-cliff towers
After leaving the giant blight, climb into the open area with floating debris and three tall rock pillars. Enter the fortress tunnel on the route toward Hefnd.

Opening a door for your fireteam
A player who has unlocked the required Dispel level can open a Taken Corruption door for other members of the fireteam. That shared access does not collect the bone for everyone: each player who wants it must interact with the bone themselves. If a door will not open, check the quest tracker and make sure the player attempting to open it has reached the tier shown for that location.
Route and numbering note
Landmarks are more reliable than older guides’ bone numbers. Historical route guides broadly describe the same areas, but some assign an individual location to a different Dispel tier elsewhere in the same guide. The current route guide groups three doors under each tier; use those groupings and your quest tracker rather than an older ordinal list. Vaexil’s route guide says its mechanics and routes were verified August 1, 2026: Warlord’s Ruin Hefnd’s Bones and Dispel route. Historical descriptions are also available from Pro Game Guides and Prima Games.
