When was the Destiny: Rising closed alpha?
NetEase Games scheduled the limited North American alpha from November 1, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. PDT through December 5, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. PDT. The official announcement described it as an early preview for eligible players in the U.S. and Canada.
How did players get access?
Participation was limited to eligible preregistered players who received instructions by email. NetEase advised checking the email account used to register, including its spam folder. The announcement also warned about scams: official email would not ask recipients for personal information.
What was in the alpha?
The October 2024 developer preview said the test was planned to include 11 playable characters. The alpha FAQ described a substantial portion of the main campaign and at least one map for each game mode. Progress from the alpha was not intended to carry over to the full game.

What is Destiny: Rising?
Destiny: Rising is a free-to-play mobile sci-fi RPG shooter developed and published by NetEase Games under license from Bungie. It takes place in an alternate timeline in the Destiny universe, in the post-Dark Age era, and features playable hero characters in a shared world with single-player, cooperative, and competitive modes. NetEase Senior Vice President Ethan Wang said at the October 2024 announcement, “With Destiny: Rising, NetEase Games is honored to partner with Bungie to deliver a Destiny-caliber experience to mobile devices.”
Is Destiny: Rising still in alpha, and what platforms is it on?
No. The 2024 alpha was followed by a separate closed beta discussed in a May 2025 update; that beta included later content such as the Red Sea Rift storyline, characters Xuan Wei and Umeko, and redesigned Fusion Rifles. Those additions should not be confused with the alpha preview.

The full game launched worldwide for iOS and Android on August 28, 2025, according to NetEase’s launch announcement. The alpha’s compatibility FAQ does not establish a reliable minimum device or operating-system specification, so check the current app listing for requirements on a particular device.
