Diablo III Season 33, titled “Shades of the Nephalem,” is over. Its “Shadows of the Past” theme summoned a temporary shadow clone when players activated a Shrine or Pylon, while a fourth Kanai’s Cube slot added another way to combine legendary powers. Here are the season’s mechanics, rewards, class sets and Conquest objectives.
What was Diablo 3 Season 33’s theme?
Blizzard called Season 33 “Shades of the Nephalem”; its gameplay theme was “Shadows of the Past.” Activating a Shrine or Pylon summoned a shadow clone matching the player’s class. Each clone used one of three predetermined builds for that class, selected at random, scaled with the character and lasted one minute unless the character died. Blizzard’s Season 33 announcement describes the theme and mechanics.

The season also added a fourth Kanai’s Cube slot. It could accept a power from any of the first three slot categories, but the extra slot did not allow a power already placed in another slot to stack again.
What rewards and Haedrig’s Gift sets were available?
Season 33 brought back cosmetic rewards originally offered in Season 9. Completing the entire Season Journey could earn the Stupendous Contraption pet and Industrial Portrait Frame.

Haedrig’s Gift awarded pieces from one class set. Blizzard’s instructions say Gifts are earned by completing Acts II, III and IV of the Season Journey. Open all three Gifts on a character of the same class to collect that set. Players could unlock only one set through Haedrig’s Gift per season, shared between Hardcore and non-Hardcore play.

| Conquest | Requirement | What to prepare for |
|---|---|---|

| Avarice / Avaritia | Make a 50-million-gold streak outside The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. | Set up for collecting gold continuously outside the excluded areas. |
