If Diablo IV shows “There was a problem logging in (code 300022)” on PS5, first check Blizzard’s current known-issue notices and PlayStation service status. The code is reported by Diablo IV players, but the available information does not establish a definitive cause or confirm eight fixes. The steps below are low-risk checks—not guaranteed remedies.
What Error 300022 means on PS5
Players have reported code 300022 when trying to log into Diablo IV on PS5. Reports from multiple players around the same time make a temporary service-side problem plausible, but community posts cannot establish whether the cause is Blizzard’s service, PSN, or an individual connection. Some players later said they could log in without identifying a particular action that resolved the issue.
PlayStation’s PS5 error-code index does not list 300022. Treat it as a reported Diablo IV login code, not a documented PS5 system error. The sources available do not provide a code-specific technical diagnosis.
Eight checks to try, in order
-
Check Blizzard’s known-issue notices
Look for a current Diablo IV login or service notice before changing settings. Blizzard’s known-issues and troubleshooting resource directs players to check current known-issue information. If there is an active incident, local network changes may not help.

Check PlayStation Network status and PS5 sign-in
Review PlayStation service status, then confirm that your console is signed in to PlayStation Network. PlayStation’s general connection guidance includes checking PS5 sign-in; this is a diagnostic step, not a confirmed fix for 300022.
-
Close and relaunch Diablo IV
Close the game fully, open it again, and retry the login once. This is a simple check, not a source-verified remedy for this code.

-
Restart the PS5
Restart the console, then open Diablo IV and try again. PlayStation recommends a console restart in general connection troubleshooting, but does not identify it as a 300022-specific solution.
-
Run the PS5 connection test
Use the console’s internet connection test and note whether other online services work. If other services also fail, that points toward a broader connectivity issue; if they work, the test still does not establish why Diablo IV login is failing. PlayStation’s error guidance describes connection checks for a different PS5 error, so apply this only as general diagnosis.

-
If you use Wi-Fi, improve the console’s placement
Try moving the PS5 closer to the router and reducing obstructions between them. This is a general PlayStation Wi-Fi check, not a proven 300022 fix.
-
Test a wired connection if one is available
Connect the PS5 to the router by Ethernet and retry. Comparing wired with Wi-Fi can help identify whether the wireless path is contributing to the problem; it does not show that the game code itself has been fixed.

- Several players report the code at once: a wider incident is possible. Check Blizzard notices and PSN status rather than assuming the router or console is at fault.
- PS5 sign-in or other online services also fail: investigate PSN sign-in or the console’s internet connection.
- Other online services work, but Diablo IV does not: the issue may be specific to Diablo IV login, but that observation does not prove a Blizzard-side cause.
- Wi-Fi fails but Ethernet works: the wireless path may be involved. This comparison does not establish a code-specific fix.
What to avoid—and what to include in a support request
Older, incident-specific community posts mention trying another Blizzard game or reinstalling Diablo IV. These are anecdotes, not verified, current or universal fixes, so try the low-risk checks above first. The available evidence does not support presenting cache clearing, database rebuilding, license restoration, DNS changes, or reinstalling as established solutions for 300022.
If the error persists, contact Blizzard support and include the console, the exact message (“There was a problem logging in (code 300022)”), whether PSN sign-in and other online services work, and the checks you have already tried. Blizzard’s troubleshooting resource asks players seeking help to provide the console, exact error, and steps already attempted.
