Diablo 4 patch 1.5.1 was build #56948, released for all platforms on August 20, 2024. Its main gameplay changes adjusted Infernal Hordes rewards, while other updates covered party and clan features, a Rogue tempering affix, and compensation for a problem with patch 1.5.0. These are the changes recorded for build 1.5.1—not a description of Diablo 4’s live version in 2026.

Infernal Hordes changes
Patch 1.5.1 followed the Season of the Infernal Hordes update. The earlier 1.5.0 patch introduced the activity’s baseline systems; this update adjusted rewards and made Burning Aether pickups easier to notice. Blizzard’s 1.5.0 notes provide the season’s launch context.
- Spoils of Gold: The chest became reusable.
- Burning Aether pickup sounds: The sound effects became more prominent.
- Elite offerings: Exalted Elite, Surging Elite, and Unstoppable Elite each increased their Burning Aether reward from +1 to +2.
- Burning Rain: Its end-of-wave reward increased from 1–3 Burning Aether to 3–9.
These are the listed reward values; the patch notes do not establish an average Aether gain or a measured change in farming efficiency.

Interface and social updates
The patch also made several quality-of-life changes for chatting, parties, characters, clans, and update notifications:
- Trade chat was separated by World Tier.
- Players would receive a notification when a patch update became available.
- Party leaders could promote another party member to leader.
- Newly created characters appeared at the top of the character list.
- Clan names could be changed.
How to claim the Greater Affix compensation
Blizzard announced a cache for all players with a guaranteed two-star Greater Affix item, compensating for a 1.5.0 issue in which players were not receiving items with guaranteed Greater Affixes from multiple sources. The delivery depended on a character’s Mother’s Gift progress:

- If the character had already completed and claimed the level 20 Mother’s Gift reward: The item was available in the next repeatable reward. It was delivered separately from that repeatable cache.
- If the character was reaching tier 20 for the first time: The item was included in the tier 20 Greater Triune Arms cache.
Blizzard’s patch notes describe the cache as a guaranteed two-star Greater Affix item; they do not specify an item’s individual identity in this announcement.
Rogue Alchemist Control Tempering change
The Rogue’s Alchemist Control Tempering affix was re-enabled with two adjustments: Flurry Size moved out of Rogue Innovation and into Alchemist Control, while Ranks of Trick Attacks was removed from Alchemist Control.

Corpse Bow and bug fixes
Blizzard added effects to Corpse Bow projectile trails to make it easier to track where shots came from. The 1.5.1 notes also list accessibility, interface, gameplay, class, and miscellaneous bug fixes. The changes summarized here are not the complete fix list; consult the official patch entry for every listed fix.
