Who is the new world boss?
Azmodan, the Lord of Sin, was announced as Diablo 4’s first new world boss. Blizzard described him as a permanent potential world boss who can invade Sanctuary. He was added to the world-boss rotation, and players could also summon him at a special location near Zarbinzet after obtaining the required materials. Is Azmodan available on Seasonal and Eternal realms?
Yes. Blizzard said the Azmodan world-boss change applied across both Seasonal and Eternal realms. The announcement describes him as a permanent potential boss, not one limited to Season 11, so the feature was presented as a lasting addition rather than a temporary seasonal encounter.

What Season 11 changes were meant to last?
Season of Divine Intervention also brought system updates that Blizzard said applied to both Seasonal and Eternal realms. The changes adjusted itemization, monster combat, defense, healing and progression. Two notable item updates changed how players improved gear:
- Tempering: Players could select a specific Tempering affix instead of having one applied randomly.
- Masterworking: The process followed a more direct path and improved an item’s Quality.

How does Season 11 fit into Diablo 4 now?
Season 11 is no longer the current release context: Blizzard’s later 2026 announcement places Diablo 4 in the Lord of Hatred and Season of Reckoning period. For players considering that content, Blizzard states that both Lord of Hatred and Vessel of Hatred require the Diablo 4 base game.
