In Diablo IV, Unstoppable is a temporary status that removes control-impairing effects and prevents them while it lasts, according to wording quoted by a player in a Blizzard forum discussion. It is not the same as Unhindered: that term is used for moving through enemies. Check the current tooltip for the skill or item granting Unstoppable; its duration depends on the source.
What does Unstoppable do in Diablo 4?
A Blizzard forum participant quoted the effect wording as: “While Unstoppable, control impairing effects are removed and prevented.” The participant attributed that wording to a third-party Diablo wiki, so it should be treated as a community-reported definition, not a current official Blizzard statement. In practical terms, the description means the status clears control impairment already affecting you and prevents it during the effect.
The available sources do not establish a complete list of affected effects or every exception. Nor do they support treating Unstoppable as damage immunity: the quoted description concerns control effects, not incoming damage.
How is Unstoppable different from Unhindered?
They describe different benefits. Unstoppable concerns control impairment; Unhindered is discussed by players as allowing movement through enemies. Unstoppable does not, by itself, mean your character can pass through enemies. The distinction comes from a player discussion rather than an official mechanics glossary.

How long does Unstoppable last?
There is no single duration for every source of Unstoppable. Use the current in-game tooltip for the specific skill or item, including its conditions and cooldown, because the duration belongs to that effect and can change with patches.
Blizzard’s Diablo IV Patch Notes (1.0–1.2) record historical increases for two specific Unstoppable-related effects, each from 2–3 seconds to 3–5 seconds. Those patch changes are not a universal duration and should not be applied to unrelated skills or items. Blizzard’s later Patch 2.6 notes mention an Unstoppable interaction in a bug fix, but do not provide a comprehensive definition.

Do bosses count as Unstoppable?
The sources available here do not establish a universal current rule for bosses, elites, or stagger interactions. A player-facing status on your character and an enemy’s behavior are separate questions; do not infer that every boss is Unstoppable, or that the player effect works identically on enemies. For a specific encounter, rely on current in-game behavior and current tooltips rather than generalizing from forum discussion.

- Effect: Does the tooltip grant Unstoppable, Unhindered, or another benefit?
- Duration and trigger: Read the exact current text for how long it lasts and what activates it.
- Build context: Check any stated conditions or cooldown; the effect is tied to its granting source.
- Patch context: Do not rely on an old guide for exact values when Blizzard patch notes show that Unstoppable-related durations have changed.
Blizzard’s Diablo IV game page identifies the game, but the sources cited here do not provide a current, comprehensive official mechanics glossary for Unstoppable’s edge cases.
