When did Vessel of Hatred and Season 6 launch?
Blizzard set the global launch for October 7, 2024, at 4 p.m. PDT. The expansion and Season of Hatred Rising went live at the same time, rather than on separate schedules. Blizzard confirmed the timing in its Vessel of Hatred launch guide and Season of Hatred Rising announcement.

The October 7 and October 8 listings refer to the same instant: the announced PDT time crossed midnight in UTC and parts of Europe.
Did the expansion and Season 6 require separate launches?
No. Season of Hatred Rising began alongside Vessel of Hatred. However, the expansion campaign required purchasing Vessel of Hatred; Blizzard also described base-game updates and new seasonal content arriving with the launch. The expansion purchase requirement should not be read as meaning that every launch update or Season 6 itself required the expansion.

When could players preload the update?
Blizzard’s launch guide listed different preload timing by platform. The preload patch included the expansion and next season’s content whether or not a player had bought the expansion.
- Battle.net: Preload began September 30, 2024, at 4 p.m. PDT.
- Consoles: Preload began October 5, 2024, at 4 p.m. PDT.
- Steam: The update became available to download when the expansion went live.
Downloading the patch did not grant access to the paid expansion campaign.
