A Reddit discussion from October 30, 2024 speculated about intelligent bugs, while a separate community guide transcribes in-game lore about a Gloom-associated Predator Strain. Those are different claims: one is fan discussion about an alleged leak; the other is a community transcription of the game’s story.
What the alleged leak actually establishes
The Reddit thread titled “Oct 29th Subtitles!” is a community discussion, not an authenticated leak file or an Arrowhead announcement. Some commenters speculate about “intelligent terminids” and a special predator, and one suggests an earlier leak about a hunter tier. The thread does not establish the origin or contents of an original leak, so it cannot verify that Helldivers 2 was getting a named “Super Predator” enemy.
In the discussion, a commenter asks: “Intelligent terminids that I have to hunt down or I get hunted?” That captures the speculation, not a confirmed mechanic. The thread is dated October 30, 2024: Reddit discussion.
What the Predator Strain lore says
Separately, a Steam Community guide transcribes Major Order text describing a Terminid strain encountered near the Centre of Science on Fenrir III, likely developed inside the Gloom. The briefing says: “Scattered reports on the new Terminids indicate discoloration, increased intelligence, and drastic changes to hunting patterns.” It calls the group the Predator Strain.

The same transcription says the strain later appeared on Fori Prime and that subsequent attacks were attributed to mutated Terminids. This is Helldivers 2’s in-universe narrative as reproduced by a community guide, not proof that the 2024 Reddit discussion accurately represented an earlier leak. Read the Steam Community lore transcription.
Does “increased intelligence” mean smarter enemy AI?
Not on the evidence here. “Increased intelligence” is wording in the in-game briefing as transcribed by the guide. It does not specify an AI system or explain how the strain behaves in combat. There is no support in these sources for claims that Terminids coordinate like human players, stalk particular players, or that a distinct “Super Predator” unit has been announced.

What players can conclude
- Confirmed by the Reddit thread: community members discussed and speculated about intelligent Terminids and a special predator.
- Not verified by that thread: the original leak’s provenance, its exact contents, or an official announcement of a “Super Predator.”
- Present in the separate lore transcription: an in-game account of a Gloom-associated Predator Strain linked to reports of increased intelligence and changed hunting patterns.
- Not established: whether those lore descriptions correspond to a specific new gameplay unit or a particular enemy-AI change.
