The timeline helps distinguish the claims: a Guilty Gear community moderator post on May 9, 2025 described leaked source code and unreleased characters and asked users not to share the material. That post is community reporting, not an Arc System Works incident statement. The official notice followed on May 14.
Did Arc System Works confirm the whole source code was leaked?
No. The official notice confirms a company data leak, but does not say that Strive source code was among the exposed data, how many files or builds were involved, or whether the entire source code was taken. Community reports do not establish completeness. There is no verified file count or breach-size figure in the cited official notice.

Was player account information leaked?
Arc System Works said that, as of May 12, 2025, it had not confirmed leakage of user personal information or player account information. That is the status reported at that date, not a guarantee about later findings. The notice said the investigation was ongoing.
Is it safe to download or access the leaked build?
No. Arc System Works specifically warned people not to access data said to have leaked in the incident because it could cause malware infection. The notice’s Japanese warning says: 「なお、本件において流出したとされるデータについては、マルウエアの感染等の原因となる可能性があるため、アクセスは絶対になさらないよう、お願いいたします。」 In English: “The data said to have leaked in this matter may cause malware infection, so we ask that you absolutely do not access it.”

The official Guilty Gear news page continued to list game updates through September 2026, including Ver. 2.03 patch notes dated September 24, 2026. Ongoing game updates do not establish whether Arc System Works later published a forensic report about the 2025 incident; the cited sources do not resolve which files were exposed or the attack method.
