No evidence in current official records reviewed indicates that Roblox founder and CEO David Baszucki has died. Roblox lists him as its Founder and Chief Executive Officer, and a 2026 SEC filing identifies him as Founder, President, CEO and Chair. Those records establish his listed company roles—not direct independent proof of his present biological status.
Who does “the owner of Roblox” mean?
“Owner” is imprecise here. Roblox’s company information says it was founded in 2004 by David Baszucki and Erik Cassel. The company’s leadership page identifies Baszucki as Founder and Chief Executive Officer; it does not describe him as the corporation’s sole owner. Founder, CEO and owner are different roles.
So if the question means Baszucki, the available official evidence does not support the claim that he died.
What do the official records establish?
- Roblox’s leadership page lists Baszucki as “Founder and Chief Executive Officer.”
- Roblox’s company information names Baszucki and Erik Cassel as founders and gives 2004 as the founding year.
- A 2026 SEC proxy filing identifies Baszucki as Founder, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board, and says he has served as founder, CEO and a board member since March 2004.
Together, these records indicate that he remains listed in Roblox’s leadership. Neither the leadership page nor the SEC filing directly confirms his present biological status, so the precise conclusion is that the death claim is unsupported by the available official evidence.

How to assess a death claim
A social-media post or repeated rumor is not confirmation on its own. For a claim about a public figure, look for a clear announcement from the person’s family or representatives, or reliable reporting that cites verifiable confirmation. A corporate leadership listing is relevant evidence of a person’s listed role, but it is not the same as a direct statement about whether they are alive.
