In Dig on Roblox, learn the digging minigame, use quests to earn progress when digging is difficult, and prioritize shovel upgrades before spending heavily on transport. Those are useful starting points, but the specific stats, quest rewards, and locations below come from Beebom guides published in June and July 2025; game updates may have changed them since.
What to do first in Dig
- Practice the digging minigame. It drives item collection and progression, so learn its timing before putting much money into upgrades.
- Check your shovel stats. Choose upgrades based on the part of digging that is slowing you down.
- Use quests as another way forward. If digging feels slow or difficult, quest lines can provide money and other rewards.
- Save early cash for progression. Beebom’s June 2025 guide recommends improving your shovel before buying expensive vehicles; treat that as a dated recommendation, not a rule for every play style.
Beebom’s beginner guide describes Dig as an open-world game in which players dig for items, complete quests, fight bosses, and pursue money and XP.
How the digging stats work
Beebom’s June 2025 guide identifies three shovel stats and one charm-related stat. Its descriptions can help you match an upgrade to a problem, though the current game may differ.
| Stat | What the guide says it affects | When it may help |
|---|---|---|
| Strength | Lowers the minigame’s left bar percentage. | Consider it if you want to make digging faster. |
| Control | Changes the size of the target bar. | Consider it if landing successful digs is difficult. |
| Haste | Speeds recovery after a failed attempt. | Consider it if mistakes interrupt your digging rhythm. |
| Endurance | Affects how long digging can continue; the guide associates it with charms. | Consider it when you want to sustain a digging session. |
These are the guide’s explanations, not independently verified current patch notes. Check the stat descriptions in your game before spending on an upgrade.

Use quests when digging is a struggle
Quests add another route to money and rewards, and can help you vary early progress. The June 2025 guide names three sources:
- Pizza Penguin: The guide reports deliveries paid $1,000–$4,000, a Pizza Roller shovel after 25 deliveries, and Arcane Totems every nine deliveries. Those payouts and milestones are dated third-party claims and may have changed.
- Cole Blood at the Combat Guild: The guide describes tasks that can grant boss-related rewards.
- Tom’s Bakery: The guide says its quests award buff items and can unlock the Shortcake Shovel.
Rewards and quest availability are subject to game updates; confirm requirements with the quest giver in the live game. For broader totem information, see Beebom’s Dig totems guide, updated July 7, 2025. Its listed effects and purchase details are also time-sensitive.

Where to dig as a beginner
Beebom’s June 2025 guide describes Cinder Shores as a starter area before players obtain the Ruby Shovel, and recommends Mount Cinder for higher-tier farming. Treat that progression advice as dated: area access and the best place to farm can change with updates and your equipment.
The same guide says glowing beams mark special dig spots and gives yellow for Legendary and red for Divine as rarity-color examples. Use these as clues reported by that guide rather than assuming colors or rarity tiers are unchanged in the current game.

Should you buy a vehicle early?
For a new player deciding between a vehicle and a shovel upgrade, the June 2025 guide favors the shovel: it recommends keeping the starter ATV for a while and spending early money on digging progression. A vehicle may make travel more convenient, but the cited guide does not establish that buying one early speeds overall progression. Charms may also help with movement, according to the guide.
Choose based on what is actually slowing you down: if travel is the main frustration, convenience may be worth the cost; if you need better digging, prioritize the shovel. This is a decision framework, not a universal ranking of purchases.

When to consider enchantments
The guide describes enchantments as percentage-based and recommends waiting until you have a stronger shovel, when a percentage improvement may matter more. It also reported that tome purchases were limited until level 30 at the time it was written. That level threshold may have changed, so check the current in-game requirements before planning around it.

Boss encounters offer a different activity from routine digging. The guide reports that bosses can drop items such as charms and shovels, but drops are chance-based; do not count on a specific reward.

Charms can also be arranged around different goals. Beebom’s guide gives boss-damage and endurance examples and describes separate loadouts for farming, bossing, and climbing. If you switch between those activities, use loadouts to match the task rather than expecting one setup to excel at everything. Exact charm effects and availability should be checked in the current game.
What may have changed
The mechanics and recommendations in this guide are based on Beebom’s third-party coverage from June–July 2025, not official Roblox patch notes. The publisher’s Dig gameplay hub was updated July 11, 2025, as new guides were added. Updates since then may affect stats, quests, locations, rewards, item prices, or unlock requirements. Verify those details in-game before committing scarce money or planning around a specific reward.
