For early progression, prioritize Lesson in Rearing, Rookie Education, Body Boost: Rookie, and Cross Art: Strike. Then consider Cross Art: High Field, Cross Art: Revive, and Strategic CP Application. This is a practical early-game order from PCGamesN’s October 8, 2025 guide—not an official ranking or a verified comparison across every current platform and difficulty. Your best personality-bond investment depends on which Digimon you use and which evolutions you are pursuing.
What Agent Skills do
Agent Skills are progression effects unlocked with Anomaly Points, which you earn by completing missions, according to Bandai Namco’s game overview. The system can improve experience gain, boost Digimon with particular personalities, and help ease Digivolution requirements. Cross Arts are battle abilities that combine the agent’s Digivice with a Digimon, offering effects such as stat boosts and follow-up attacks. Agent Rank also contributes directly to Digimon strength, as explained by producer Ryosuke Hara in the PlayStation Blog overview of enhancement systems.

These skills are one part of team building, not a substitute for choosing Digimon, moves, equipment, and evolutions suited to an encounter. Personality affects level-up stat growth and Digivolution paths, while Digivolution is non-linear and depends in part on stats; the official overview also describes Attachment Skills and equipment as other ways to develop a team.
Best Agent Skills to prioritize early
The order below follows PCGamesN’s dated progression-oriented recommendations. Its choices balance long-term experience gains, Rookie development, and useful battle effects rather than claiming one universally optimal build.

| Priority | Skill | Why consider it | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Early | Lesson in Rearing | PCGamesN says it increases battle EXP for Digimon in the party and box by 1% per Agent Rank. | Players investing early for a compounding progression benefit. |
| Early | Rookie Education | Recommended for scaling Rookie EXP and making it easier to experiment with evolution paths. | Players developing or rotating Rookie Digimon. |
| Early | Body Boost: Rookie | Raises Rookie HP, SP, and stats, according to the guide. | Teams relying on Rookie Digimon during early progression. |
| Early | Cross Art: Strike | A single-target damage option that the guide particularly recommends for early bosses. | Players who want a direct battle tool against a priority target. |
| Later | Cross Art: High Field | A reusable team-support effect. | Players who value a support option over only single-target damage. |
| Later | Cross Art: Revive | Can revive the team with Guts; PCGamesN notes that this does not restore full health. | Players who want a recovery option and can work with its limited revival effect. |
| Later | Strategic CP Application | Starts battles with CP based on Agent Rank; PCGamesN says the effect can be stacked through multiple nodes. | Players planning around CP availability at the start of battle. |
The 1% per Agent Rank figure is PCGamesN’s description of Lesson in Rearing, not an official balance specification. Bandai Namco’s official materials confirm the broader kinds of effects Agent Skills provide, but do not rank these individual skills.
Choose a personality bond for your roster
PCGamesN describes five trees: Bonds of Loyalty and four personality bonds—Bonds of Valor, Philanthropy, Amicability, and Wisdom. The personality trees benefit Digimon that match the relevant personality, so invest in the one that fits the Digimon you actually field rather than treating one tree as best for every team.
Rank #2
- AN EPIC STORY OF CONNECTION - Take on a mission to uncover the mystery of the world’s collapse, where chance encounters with unique characters will shape your journey across time and parallel worlds - and change fate itself.
- ADVENTURE BETWEEN WORLDS AND TIME - Journey between the parallel human world and the Digital World: Iliad where Digimon reside. Explore the Digital World and its intricately detailed realms and discover all of its secrets.
- STRATEGIC TURN-BASED BATTLES - Enjoy dynamic turn-based combat that combines strategic elements with evolved battle components. More than 450 Digimon and deep customization options provide limitless ways to approach the challenges of battle and reveal the strength of the bonds formed with your Digimon.
For long-term planning, consider evolution goals as well as immediate battle utility. The unofficial Digimon Evolution Tree bond-skills database lists conditions for selected Digimon and reports that some evolutions require fully developed personality trees, including cases involving multiple trees. Its counts—24 Loyalty skills and 46 skills in each of the four personality trees, 208 total—are figures reported by that fan database, whose stated underlying data covers 476 Digimon through August 2026. Bandai Namco’s official sources do not provide a comparable complete skill table.
How to decide what to unlock next
- Start with your immediate goal. For general growth, consider the EXP skills; for a Rookie-heavy team, weigh Rookie Education and Body Boost: Rookie; for a battle need, consider the relevant Cross Art.
- Match personality investment to your team. Check the personalities of the Digimon you use and prioritize the corresponding bond rather than spreading points without a plan.
- Check desired evolutions before committing long-term. Some reported evolution conditions call for substantial investment in personality trees, so compare those requirements with your roster plans using the fan database as an unofficial reference.
- Keep Agent Skills in context. A skill choice works alongside Digimon selection, Attachment Skills, equipment, moves, stats, and evolution—not in place of them.
Does the October 2025 recommendation still apply?
Bandai Namco’s July 8, 2026 patch notes list versions 01.000.012 for PS5, 1.13.1.0 for Xbox, build 23514637 for Steam, and 1.2.1 for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The notes describe a Digifarm screen for checking Digivolution conditions and other updates, but do not report Agent Skill balance adjustments. Those version numbers are a dated snapshot and may have been superseded; check the notes for your platform at Bandai Namco’s July 2026 update page. The available sources do not establish that the 2025 skill order has been retested against every later version or difficulty setting.
