Directive 8020 Trophy and Achievement Guide: A Low-Replay Roadmap for PS5, Xbox and PC

Directive 8020 is a branching cinematic sci-fi horror game in which decisions can change who survives and which ending you see. The most efficient completion plan is to make one careful “save everyone” campaign, preserve manual saves before major decisions, use Turning Points or chapter select for ending and missable cleanup, then finish the Curator’s Cut and any Movie Night or co-op requirements. The completion estimate published by a dedicated guide is about 20 hours, but that is a guide estimate rather than an independently measured time.

Spoiler warning: the roadmap below names endings, survival requirements and decision-dependent trophies. Stop at the platform and preparation sections if you want to play without outcome spoilers.

What this guide covers

Directive 8020 launched on 12 May 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam. The Steam version explicitly supports Steam Achievements, while the console versions use their platform trophy or achievement systems. Bandai Namco presents the game as a branching cinematic sci-fi horror experience, and its Turning Points feature is designed to let you revisit decisions, uncover different endings and hidden paths, and save crew members who died on an earlier branch.

This is a planning guide rather than a complete transcription of every platform list. The available dedicated guide describes a 16-trophy checklist and publishes the route summarized here, but its visible excerpt does not show every trophy name or condition. Check the live guide and the trophy or achievement list on your platform before attempting a specific trigger. The PS5 list can differ in presentation or requirements from Xbox achievements and Steam Achievements.

Platforms, editions and online features

Version What is established Completion note
PS5 Full game released 12 May 2026; uses a PlayStation trophy list. The dedicated roadmap is written as a PS5 platinum route, so translate its labels to your own platform list.
Xbox Series X|S Full game released 12 May 2026; uses Xbox achievements. Confirm the Xbox-specific list for names, gamerscore and any platform wording changes.
PC (Steam) Steam lists the game with Steam Achievements. Use the Steam achievement page alongside the route; do not assume a PS5 trophy description is reproduced word for word.

The Steam listing describes a Digital Deluxe Edition with a bonus mission, outfits, cinematic filters, a digital artbook and a digital soundtrack. Nothing in the published material establishes that Deluxe content is required for trophy or achievement completion, so the standard edition is sufficient unless you specifically want those extras.

Bandai Namco’s launch announcement said online multiplayer would arrive in a post-launch update. That statement records the launch plan, not the service’s status today. Check the game’s current official news or in-game multiplayer menu before scheduling an online session; this guide does not treat online co-op as confirmed live without that current check. Local Movie Night and any online requirements should be planned as separate sessions because the dedicated guide recommends handling them independently.

Before you start: set up a clean completion file

Choose your platform list first

Open the native trophy or achievement list before beginning and note whether a requirement is marked as hidden, multiplayer, Curator’s Cut, or missable. The names below are taken from the guide’s visible checklist and are useful landmarks, but they are not a substitute for the complete current list on your system.

Use manual saves as insurance

Branching games can make an apparently harmless dialogue choice permanent for the current branch. Keep a manual save before major decision scenes, before an episode transition, and before any sequence in which a character can die. If your platform uses only one rolling slot, use Turning Points and chapter select as soon as they become available, and avoid overwriting a save that still contains your main “everyone alive” route.

Decide how spoiler-conscious you want to be

The first run is most valuable when you make deliberate choices instead of repeatedly restarting to chase a single trophy. If you want a blind story, stop after this preparation section and return for cleanup after the credits. If your priority is the fewest full campaigns, follow the spoiler-marked route below and retain a backup save at each major branch.

The fastest low-replay roadmap

The dedicated guide’s roadmap is approximately 20 hours and is organized around one canonical save-everyone run, targeted chapter replays, a Curator’s Cut clear, and social or co-op sessions. Because that time is an editorial estimate, your result will vary with cut-scene speed, exploration, retries and the number of branches you reload.

  1. First campaign: keep all five playable characters alive. Explore normally, record premonitions, and avoid sacrificing a character merely to unlock a branch. The guide identifies finishing with all five playable characters alive as the missable Crew Manifest requirement.
  2. Track the premonition collectibles during that campaign. The guide calls for scanning all 17 premonitions in one playthrough for Foreseen. Do not assume a scan carries between separate runs; the stated condition is one playthrough.
  3. Clear the defensive sequence in Episode 7 without failures. Hold the Line is marked missable and requires surviving Episode 7’s defensive wave with no failures. Make a dedicated save before that sequence and use the platform’s correct input prompts rather than rushing through a failed attempt.
  4. Finish the first run and preserve its completed save. This is your safest base for chapter-select cleanup and for checking which trophies or achievements did not unlock. The guide says most objectives stack on a canonical save-everyone run plus a Curator’s Cut clear, but that is its proposed route, not a verified guarantee for every platform.
  5. Use Episode 7-to-Episode 8 chapter-select replays for other endings. The guide specifically recommends these chapters for triggering additional endings. Make the required branch, complete the ending sequence, and allow the unlock to register before quitting.
  6. Reach Ending E. The guide marks Forgive Me as missable. Because the exact decision chain is not included in the visible excerpt, consult the live guide’s full trigger instructions rather than guessing from the trophy name.
  7. Complete the Curator’s Cut. Treat this as a separate campaign variant, not as a handful of optional scenes. The roadmap places it after the main save-everyone run because it can supply a second perspective and mop up objectives that did not register in the theatrical route.
  8. Finish Movie Night and online requirements last. Use a separate local group for Movie Night. Schedule online co-op only after confirming that the current build and your platform expose the feature; the launch announcement described it as post-launch.

Missable trophies and achievements to protect

Listed objective Published condition Why it is easy to miss Best protection
Cassiopeia Awakens Complete the prologue. Not a branch-sensitive objective, but it establishes the opening checkpoint. Let the prologue finish and verify the unlock notification before leaving the game.
First Contact Complete Episode 2. Episode completion can be obscured when you quit during a transition. Continue through the episode-end scene and wait for the platform notification.
Hold the Line Survive Episode 7’s defensive wave with no failures. The guide marks it missable; a failed prompt can invalidate the attempt. Save before the wave, follow every defense prompt, and reload the clean save after a failure.
Crew Manifest Finish the campaign with all five playable characters alive. Deaths are consequences of earlier choices and may not be reversible from a late checkpoint. Keep a save before each high-risk decision and prioritize the everyone-alive route on the first campaign.
Forgive Me Reach Ending E. Ending branches depend on a sequence of decisions rather than one isolated choice. Use the full live guide for the exact chain and start from the recommended Episode 7 or Episode 8 chapter point.
Foreseen Scan all 17 premonitions in one playthrough. Missing one scan can force another complete collectible route if chapter tracking does not carry over. Follow a premonition checklist from the prologue onward and confirm every scan as you go.

The source guide states that this is only an excerpt of its 16-item list. Do not infer that the six entries above are the complete set, and do not assume an unlisted objective is safe to miss. Hidden entries, platform-specific descriptions and multiplayer conditions should be checked directly on the current list.

How to make the save-everyone run manageable

Keep a decision log

Write down the episode, scene and choice whenever the game presents a consequential decision. A short note such as “Episode 4 — chose the cautious response — both characters present at transition” is more useful than trying to remember a branch several hours later. Include whether a premonition was scanned and whether a quick-time or defensive sequence was completed without a failure.

Separate survival from experimentation

Do not combine the everyone-alive objective with deliberate death experiments. A death branch may be interesting, but it can contaminate the save you need for Crew Manifest. Make a backup or create a separate chapter branch before testing a dangerous choice.

Protect the Episode 7 sequence

Because Hold the Line requires no failures, treat the Episode 7 defensive wave like a challenge run. Lower distractions, use the control scheme you know best, and pause between prompts if the game permits it. If one input fails, reload the pre-wave save instead of hoping the game will count a later clean attempt.

Make the 17-premonition requirement explicit

Premonitions are not merely scenery if you are pursuing Foreseen. Mark each scan in a checklist with its episode and scene. The condition published by the guide is all 17 in one playthrough, so a collection split across unrelated campaigns may not satisfy it.

Turning Points and chapter-select cleanup

Turning Points are an official feature for revisiting decisions, uncovering hidden paths and changing who survives. They are the main reason you do not need to replay the entire story every time a branch trophy is missed. The dedicated roadmap recommends Episode 7-to-Episode 8 chapter-select replays for ending cleanup.

  1. Finish the current scene and let the game save; do not close the application during a transition.
  2. Open the chapter-select or Turning Points menu from the main screen and choose the earliest chapter that contains the decision chain for the target objective.
  3. Load your preserved main save rather than overwriting it if the interface offers a choice between creating a branch and replacing progress.
  4. Follow the full decision sequence from that point. A late save may not contain the earlier state required for a different ending.
  5. Play through the ending or trophy event until the notification appears. Reaching a choice and immediately quitting can prevent the unlock from syncing.
  6. Return to your original completed save before starting the next branch.

Chapter select is a recovery method, not a guarantee that every collectible or survival condition is retroactive. The published material specifically supports it for ending cleanup, while the 17-premonition requirement is explicitly “in one playthrough.” For any objective not covered by the full guide, check whether the platform list or the game’s own chapter screen describes cumulative progress.

Curator’s Cut, Movie Night and co-op

Curator’s Cut

The roadmap treats the Curator’s Cut as a separate clear after the main campaign. Start it only after protecting your canonical save-everyone file. Follow the same decision log and notification checks, because an unlock earned in the alternate cut may not appear until the relevant scene has fully ended.

Movie Night

Movie Night is a local social mode, so arrange the required number of controllers and players before launching it. The available guide recommends a dedicated Movie Night session rather than trying to combine it with the precision needed for the first everyone-alive run. Use the current in-game description to confirm player count and mode requirements; the excerpt does not state those numbers.

Online multiplayer

Bandai Namco’s launch-day announcement said online multiplayer was planned for a post-launch update. Availability can therefore depend on the current patch, platform and service status. Before inviting someone, install the latest update, check whether the online option is visible from the main menu, and verify that both players are on supported platforms and editions. If the menu is absent, do not treat an offline workaround as equivalent to an online achievement; wait for an official status update or consult the current platform list.

Troubleshooting unlocks

The notification did not appear

  • Confirm that you completed the entire stated condition, not only the decision that begins it.
  • Check the platform-native list for a different wording or a hidden requirement.
  • Reload the last clean save and repeat the scene without skipping the final transition.
  • Synchronize your console or Steam profile after returning to the main menu.

A character died on the everyone-alive route

Stop using that file as your canonical run. Load the save from before the consequential decision, or restart the earliest chapter that contains the branch. If no suitable save remains, begin a new campaign and keep a written decision log from the opening.

A premonition was missed

Do not assume a chapter replay will add it to a one-playthrough requirement. Check the full guide’s collectible route and, if necessary, restart a dedicated 17-scan run with a checklist. Keep that run separate from ending experiments.

An online requirement is unavailable

Check the game’s current patch notes and official support channels, then confirm that your platform’s network service is operating. The launch announcement’s post-launch wording is not proof that the feature is enabled in every build.

What the 20-hour estimate really means

The approximately 20-hour figure belongs to the dedicated guide’s proposed route. It assumes a focused first campaign, targeted Episode 7 and Episode 8 replays, one Curator’s Cut clear, and separate Movie Night and online sessions. It is not a publisher statistic, completion-rate study or hands-on measurement. Players who explore every branch, replay failed defensive prompts, or lack a clean save should expect a longer schedule.

Completion checklist

  • Choose the correct PS5, Xbox Series X|S or Steam list before starting.
  • Reserve a manual save before major decisions and episode transitions.
  • Complete a first run aimed at keeping all five playable characters alive.
  • Scan all 17 premonitions in that same run if pursuing Foreseen.
  • Clear Episode 7’s defensive wave without failures for Hold the Line.
  • Finish the campaign and preserve the completed save.
  • Use Turning Points or chapter select, especially the Episode 7-to-Episode 8 route, for ending cleanup.
  • Follow the full current instructions for Forgive Me and Ending E.
  • Complete the Curator’s Cut.
  • Run Movie Night separately.
  • Verify that online multiplayer is currently enabled before arranging the final session.
  • Compare your result with the complete platform-native list, not only the excerpted names in this guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Directive 8020 available on PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch?

The documented launch platforms are PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam. The available platform information does not list PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch.

Do I need the Digital Deluxe Edition for the platinum or all achievements?

No requirement for Deluxe content has been established. Its listed extras are a bonus mission, outfits, cinematic filters, a digital artbook and a digital soundtrack; verify the current platform list for any later change.

Can I earn every trophy in one blind playthrough?

That is unlikely if you avoid spoilers. The published roadmap uses a save-everyone campaign, chapter-select ending cleanup, a Curator’s Cut clear and separate social or co-op sessions, with several objectives identified as missable.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Does chapter select automatically carry over all collectibles?

Do not assume it does. The guide specifically recommends chapter-select replays for ending cleanup, while the 17-premonition condition is stated as requiring all scans in one playthrough.

Is online co-op definitely available now?

The launch announcement described online multiplayer as a post-launch update. Check the current official update information and your in-game multiplayer menu before treating an online requirement as playable.
