Steam lists Disciples: Domination as Playable on Steam Deck, but that rating is not a guarantee against crashes. No title-specific crash fix is established here. Work through Steam’s general troubleshooting steps one at a time, retesting after each so you can identify whether anything changes.
What Steam Deck’s Playable rating tells you
Steam’s store listing identifies Disciples: Domination as a February 12, 2026 release from Artefacts Studio, published by Kalypso Media, and rates it Playable on Steam Deck. Steam says Playable games may require manual adjustments, and compatibility reviews can change over time. Troubleshoot the crash one change at a time
Steam’s recommendations below are general guidance for Steam Deck software problems, not confirmed fixes for this particular game. Record when the crash happens—at launch, in a specific scene, or after a repeatable action—and retest after each step.
- Update SteamOS and restart. Install any available SteamOS updates, restart the Deck, then launch the game again before changing other settings.
- Disable third-party applications. Exit or temporarily disable applications you installed through Desktop Mode, then retest. If that changes the result, re-enable them individually to help isolate a conflict.
- Check compatibility details and test Proton. Open the game’s page in your Steam Library, select the gear icon, then Properties → Compatibility. Note the current setting first. If needed, check Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool and choose the latest Proton version available. Steam’s guidance is to try the latest Proton; it does not identify a best version for Disciples: Domination. Interface wording can vary by client version. Retest, and restore the original setting if the change makes no difference or worsens the problem.
- Reduce graphics settings if performance or load seems related. Lower the graphics preset or individual options, then reproduce the same situation. This is a general stability/performance check, not a verified crash workaround for this game.

If it still crashes, collect details and report it
If the steps do not resolve the issue, capture enough information for support or other players to distinguish your case from a different crash:
- SteamOS version and the game version or build shown by Steam.
- Whether compatibility mode is forced and, if so, which Proton version is selected.
- Exactly when the crash occurs and whether a particular action reliably triggers it.
- Whether it also crashes in Desktop Mode, or only in Game Mode.
- Which troubleshooting steps you tried and whether any changed the behavior.
