You play the campaign solo; the Mecha Dragon and Atlan are gameplay features, not ways for friends to join you.
Is DOOM: The Dark Ages single-player only?
According to Bethesda’s official description, DOOM: The Dark Ages is a “dark fantasy/sci-fi single-player experience.” Its official FAQ covers platforms, services, technical support, cross-ownership and cross-progression, but does not advertise co-op or competitive multiplayer. On the official information checked, there is no multiplayer mode to select and no listed way for friends to join the campaign.

Do the Mecha Dragon or Atlan have multiplayer?
No multiplayer mode is implied by these set pieces. Bethesda describes riding the Mecha Dragon and piloting the Atlan as parts of the single-player experience. Large battles and vehicle gameplay do not mean another player can join.

What do cross-ownership and cross-progression mean?
Bethesda’s FAQ lists cross-ownership across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, xCloud (with Game Pass Ultimate), and Battle.net, and cross-progression among Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, and xCloud. These features concern access to the game or carrying progress across listed platforms; they do not enable co-op or multiplayer.
Where can you play DOOM: The Dark Ages?
The id Software FAQ, dated October 15, 2025, lists Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox PC/Microsoft Store, Steam and Battle.net. It also names Game Pass Ultimate (including PC Game Pass), GeForce NOW and Boosteroid, and separately lists xCloud streaming with Game Pass Ultimate required. The FAQ states that Steam Deck was Verified as of October 15, 2025. Platform and service availability can change.

Does the physical edition need a disc drive?
Bethesda Support says Xbox and PlayStation physical copies include a disc for the base game. Xbox Series S cannot play those physical copies; a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition can install the game using the disc-drive attachment. A physical Steam copy is a code to redeem on Steam, not a disc. Check that the format matches your console or PC before buying.

Bethesda lists a base game edition and a Premium Edition that includes the game, soundtrack and artbook, skins, early access and campaign DLC. The Collector’s Bundle includes the Premium Edition, a 12-inch DOOM Slayer statue, a metal Red Key Card replica and a SteelBook case. These are edition contents, not multiplayer features; current stock and availability are not established here.
