Emotional Rescue was a free Disney Dreamlight Valley update released August 20, 2025. Its main addition is an Inside Out realm where players meet Joy and Sadness and help create a Dream Production for Riley. The update also brought a Star Path, a limited-time event, DreamSnaps changes, and quality-of-life fixes. Gameloft published the patch notes on August 18, 2025.
Inside Out realm and story quests
A new door in the Dream Castle leads to the Inside Out realm. There, players meet Joy and Sadness in Headquarters and help them put together a Dream Production to inspire Riley ahead of an upcoming talent show. The quests also let players place a remote Headquarters in their Valley. Gameloft’s official patch notes describe the update’s story content.
Retro Roadtrip Star Path and Memory Mania
Retro Roadtrip Star Path
The update introduced the Retro Roadtrip Star Path, featuring retro-themed fashions, a Donald Dream Style, and a Rock and Roll Fox companion among its advertised rewards. For this Star Path, new Routine Duties unlocked each Wednesday for five consecutive weeks. Completing all duties for one week unlocked the next week’s set; players could also catch up on duties that had already been released.
Memory Mania Mini-Event
Gameloft scheduled the returning Memory Mania Mini-Event for September 3–16, 2025. During the event, Riley’s phone could spawn around the Valley, and the advertised rewards included the Nostalgia Capybara. Those are past event dates; the 2025 announcement does not establish that Memory Mania is available now.

The patch notes also announced weekly DreamSnaps challenges, optional Premium Shop items, and limited-time seasonal Moonstone packs. They do not establish current shop stock or prices, and the optional paid content was not described as a requirement for the free update.
DreamSnaps, photos, and routine-play changes
- Photo Gallery: Save multiple photos, then review them or submit them to DreamSnaps. The gallery requires an online connection and can be viewed on platforms linked to the player’s game profile.
- DreamSnaps motifs: Add up to five photomode motifs to a submission. The update also revised the DreamSnaps tutorial.
- Star Path timing: The active Duty period increased by five days. The grace period for trading or buying extra tokens became 48 hours.
- Uncrafting Station: Uncrafting now costs Star Coins instead of Dreamlight.
These feature details and timing changes are from Gameloft’s August 18, 2025 patch notes. The Photo Gallery has a connectivity and linked-profile limitation: it is not an offline photo archive.

Other additions and edition limits
Companion assignments and stalls
Players can assign certain companions to specified villagers: Pua or Heihei to Moana or Maui, Figaro to Minnie, Dinah to Alice, and Max to Prince Eric. Selected stalls also became placeable in new biomes for owners of the relevant expansion passes. Gameloft warns that these stalls cannot be removed once placed.
Arcade Edition and Storybook Vale note
The patch notes explicitly state that Disney Dreamlight Valley Arcade Edition does not include seasonal Star Paths or the Premium Shop. Separately, the notes told Storybook Vale expansion owners to expect the Teal Baby Dragon and Black Pegasus in the update after Emotional Rescue. That was a promise made in the 2025 notes, not confirmation of their current availability.

Selected bug fixes
Gameloft’s notes list fixes for several reported issues, including:
- Star Path duties resetting for some players.
- Problems buying blueprints from Prince Eric and a furniture pickup that failed to add an item to inventory.
- Cheshire Cat Tail and Garlic Chocolate Tart drops in some biomes, plus items that could not be picked up after an NPC found them.
- An Alice in Wonderland doorknob display issue, hotkeys failing after the final Storybook Vale cutscene, and a V-EGG-etable seed-bag appearance issue.
- An Eggstravaganza purple egg becoming stuck in a chest.
This is a selection of fixes named in that patch note, not a complete inventory of every known bug or a guarantee about later game versions. A Steam announcement discussion includes one player asking about a Maleficent-versus-Hades painting clipping issue in the library; that comment alone does not establish how widespread the issue was or whether it was fixed later.
