What the Switch 2 version adds
THQ Nordic and Nintendo promote four Switch 2-specific features:
- Higher-resolution visuals
- Improved frame rate
- Mouse-style controls using Joy-Con 2
- The Costume Pack DLC included
The official materials do not specify a resolution, frame-rate target, or measured comparison with earlier versions. Joy-Con 2 mouse-style controls are presented as a supported option; the sources do not say an additional controller is required.

What Mickey does in Wasteland
The game sends Mickey into Wasteland, a realm inhabited by forgotten Disney characters. Its central choice is how to use the brush: paint can restore the environment, while thinner can alter it and reveal secrets. Mickey can also dash, ground pound and sprint. Nintendo’s product listing describes the paint-and-thinner mechanic as a way to restore beauty and harmony or uncover hidden secrets.
Release date, availability and US listing details
The Switch 2 version launched October 6, 2026. THQ Nordic says it is available at retail and on the Nintendo eShop; Nintendo’s US product page lists a digital version. The Nintendo listing gives these US-specific details:
